I’m having a few small issues with the bike.

First off my new x-ring chain rusts every time I take it out. Is the problem my chain or lube? How can I clean up the chain thoroughly? Should I soak it or just brush it off? 25E4AAF8-881F-4B09-A471-007F8C88DAC0.jpeg1D4CEC3A-E78D-457A-9B83-6DA59A784B46.jpeg

My rear disc is star shaped and each of the “tips” stick out past the pads. It causing abnormal wear to the rotor. Should I grind it down flush or replace?? It’s not that old of a rotor.

Last is my left frame guard. In the 35 miles I raced, my boots managed to rub right through the frame guard! I’m pretty sure this is from a new pair of boots that grip extremely well. I can’t beleive it took it clear down to bare metal in one spot!! Anyone try the Acerbis aftermarket ones? Will it solve my problem?

I wouldn't worry about the rotor. Wire brush should take care of the rust on that chain.
What kind of awesome boots do you have that will tear right through frame guards?
Text me if you need Acerbis stuff.

Your boots wore out your guard?? yikes. do they make a metal replacement?

Not that I’ve seen but Acerbis sells aftermarket ones that look beefier. I never thought them to be a wear item!

I have been scrubbing it with a brush, but I don’t understand why it’s rusting so easily. Do you guys have similar issues with your chains? Is it because I use chain wax instead of a petroleum base lube?

I bought some Fox Instinct Offroads, they have a rubber grip that runs all the way up the inside of each leg. I noticed it was wearing the anodizing off of my clutch cover on the first ride too.

Do you get let pump from griping your bike that hard? You normally squeeze your tank with your legs.

This bike is too skinny! Seriously there’s not enough meat up to to pinch with the knees

Those boots look awesome! I almost bought those too, but found some Forma Predators on clearance. I couldn't trust my worn out Tech 5s after my toes got broken.

No idea why it's rusting fast. Maybe try the other lube?

Yeah I don’t blame you, I’d kick them tech 5 to the curb too! I’ll have to check out your Predators, I haven’t seen them in person.
