Central Utah RME Hanging Tree Trail run?

This trail keeps coming up in discussion on here, I think it's about time we plan an RME Run for this Spring/Summer.

@Gawynz , @Herzog , @xjtony , @mbryson and I were all talking about it over last weekend. I'd like to bring my Willys out, it sounds like it could do it without too much trouble. I may need a yank on the waterfall, though. ;) The biggest thing we'll need it a guide that knows the way thru the trail and out the exit, thru the private property. Anyone know the way and willing to lead our group?

I would suggest keeping the group medium sized.... no more than 10 rigs. How about on a Saturday or Sunday, sometime in the next month? A Sunday would be better for me.

These go to 11
I'd be down. It is a fun trail. I would also say to limit the group size. We had 16 last year and it made for a l o n g day. The way out is tricky. We went with James years ago the first time. He is friends with, or at least knows the property owner. I could find my way out. But it would be better if we can give the owner a call.

Awesome! It would be fun to run the trail with you, Seth! Even 10 rigs on the trail is a bit much, but I think that number is still manageable. Even then, it seems that when 10 commit, 8 will show up.

I do have the owners contact info, it should be easy to reach out and get in touch.

I would love to but already have a Moab, Sand Hollow, and Grand Junction trip planned between no and the middle of May. I could certainly do mid to late June (assuming the Jeep survives all the other abuse)

I've done this trail twice in my little TJ. I'm wondering what kind of rigs are going up. I'm interestedbut would hate to hold a group of buggies up but at the same time nothing is worse then being rushed either.

I'd also be interested in running it and have done it 4 or 5 times all exiting the way your talking about. If I do come could probably find the way out. Just depends on the dates decided. Saturdays are better for me.

My only availability in May is the 20th.

Unfortunately that's the same weekend as the RME 21 Road / Billings Canyon trip. No chance you're available before that, eh?

i have never been on this trail, but would love to join in if there's room,

It would be fun to have your rig along, Nate!

Awesome! In the buggy or a JK?

I would imagine it'll be mostly well built rigs. If you've done it before and know what to expect, I think you'd be fine. How is your TJ setup? I've been discouraged from bringing my JKU along, I don't want sheetmetal damage.

Sounds good Kevin, we'll try to nail down a date. I used to have Fridays off, which made it easy to travel on Friday going out of town. Now I'm working Friday's, so traveling Saturday and wheeling Sunday is my best option.

I think my family was talking about running it the saturday before memorial day. i think that is the 26th. I've done it 5 or 6 times and I have the contact info of the guy that owns the land. It's somewhere in my phone. Can't remember his name haha. It's a fun trail. I've done it both ways, out the top and back down. For a larger group, definitely better to go out the top. Last summer, my younger brother in his TJ on 35s came and only had to get yanked a couple times (the waterfall and a spot to prevent him smashing his jeep.)

That's probably a good weekend to run it, as the OSRC or Delta Classic will be going on. I wouldn't want to turn your family run into a massive group run with RME. :)

Is May 13th out of the question, due to Mothers day? It's about the only day that I could make work between now and Memorial Day.

As of this point, i think we only have a few rigs going. Wouldn't mind if others tagged along.
