I would like to try to make it. Just curious. What is the smallest or least capable vehicle going? I'm locked but just a small guy on 33 all terrains. Don't want to hold anyone up. Just never saw a point in changing what works .

Since we don't know where we are going yet, I'm going to say you ought to be totally fine with 33 AT's. I'm only running 35's myself, MT's, so your 33's are probably going to do better in snow than my 35's.

The way the snow looks now, we'll be doing good to find anything that would challenge a Subaru.

Suggestions for closer locations that make it easier for more to come out would be welcome. Started thinking about maybe something like Bullion canyon in the Dugway range, but it would suck if the PET run portion was just muddy. Silver Island looks pretty weak on snow from the freeway right now.

I haven't driven it, but Indian Creek/Lee Canyon in the Simpsons gets above 7000 feet. Then Little Red Pine Pass in the Sheeprocks gets about that high at the top (haven't driven that one either), and if we still don't get me stuck, Harker and Oak Brush canyons just south of there get above 8000 if you're persistent enough.

But yeah, if the PET is muddy...

I've done the Indian Creek/Lee Canyon a few times in dry or just damp. Never any snow. I would doubt most of us could make it up, just because how melted-refroze-rained on-froze again slippery the stuff is. But that could be a lot fun trying. Somebody is doing some kind of work in the area too though, Erickson pass is getting graded/plowed regularly.

Haven't done the Little Red Pine/Little Valley loop in a million years, that could be fun to try too, long as it's still open to full size, I was on an ATV last time I did it, which was a long, long time ago. Lot of possibilities in that vicinity, might be a good area to zero in on. If there is enough fresh snow, just going from Vernon Reservoir over the top to along Cherry Creek can be fun.
