Also - do people journal like these two do? I'm amazed at how much crap they write in journals and voice memos. Just, weird as hell to me.

I've never known anyone who does anything remotely close... Definitely weird as hell.

This podcast has been crazy to listen to. Shocking!

Binged listened to this on our Mexico trip and was truly amazed and disgusted with the situation. Too many missed opportunities. Steve Powell should be jailed for the rest of his life.

Boiling hot water next to a couch? Seems fishy to me.
I was thinking about that one, and at first glance it seems odd, for sure. Like the podcast said, they determined the grandparents turned caregivers were overwhelmed.

Maybe they were cooking dinner and needed the stove space, or maybe he was thinking "knowing the boys, if I leave this on a counter they might pull it off and hurt themselves."

Hopefully it was just that - a shortsighted mistake.

I need a new podcast. I've listened to Serial, A Killing on the Cape, Atlanta Monster, the Happy Face Killer, Monster - the Zodiak Killer, and several other similar murderous and unwholesome stories, but none of them stack up to COLD and the first season of Serial. Any suggestions?

I haven't listened to it but my wife liked "13 : The Search for Leigh Occhi".

If you want a different kind of unwholesome that will really make you laugh I would recommend "My Dad Wrote a Porno".

Given what is going on in politics I have been meaning to listen to "Slow Burn" which is all about Nixon and Watergate.

I'm a big fan of "The Joe Rogan Experience" if you want listen to interesting conversations on everything from psychology to comedy to ultra-marathon running to hunting and really anything else that you can imagine. He has his fair share of wackos on the podcast but I like that he is willing to sit down and have a conversation with pretty much anybody that has something interesting to say.

I'll look into Leigh Occhi. Not sure I can handle the Porno, but I'll give that a chance in case it is not as nasty as it sounds :) I meant to mention, one of my favorites was Dirty John. I also liked listening to Making a Murderer on Netflix.

Hardcore History is pretty good. You have to pay for the older ones, but the latest are free. The second most recent episode goes into pretty good detail about the last Japanese soldier that was still fighting WW2 when they finally convinced him the war was over... In the 1970's...o_O

I forgot about Hardcore History. That is an excellent one if you are at all interested in history. My only issue with it is that Dan like to talk relatively softly then gets super loud and it's hard to control the volume.

I switched to a bluetooth headset for that very reason. I listen to a lot of audio books and podcasts, and with all of the road noise it would drive me crazy to have to adjust the volume constantly when the narrator would do that.
