Mark and I will both be in Moab so I won't be able to do it. I wouldn't mind giving it a try, but I won't be around this time.

I have been trying to talk davy into taking his technician test. I took mine in 7th grade(I couldn't pass the morse code part) and he is in 7th grade so it just makes sense :)

Okay, Dave is out. Anybody else? If nobody else is able to be net control, I am still willing to do it... but we'll need to push our start time back an hour to 9:30pm.

I can do net control if you give me a script and nobody has great expectations! I'm also perfectly fine with moving to 9:30 - later is actually better for me as I had some conflicts around 8:30 last night. Your call, Dempsey.

Okay, how about this: let's bump ahead next week's starting time to 9:30pm. I will plan on being net control again next week. However, I will then turn it over to you to be net control the following week (April 10th), and you can choose the starting time for your night.

How does that sound?

RME net #6 just finished. Tonight's crowd was pretty thin:

NM0AB---Dempsey (TurboMinivan) as net control
KE8L--Eric (unimog)
KJ7DCP--Lane (lhracing)
KC7MDT---Cade (mr_cade)

I had planned to introduce another aspect to tonight's net: a training item. However, with such a small crowd I decided on the fly to abandon this idea entirely. I'm sure it can be brought up in a future net, so no big deal.

As a reminder, Eric will be our net control station next week. I just sent him some supporting documentation to aid him in this task. Look for him to post in this thread soon.

Well failed again. Tried from Farmington with a hand held and was able to hear just fine but the transmit side just didn't cut it. Tried my mobile in the 4runner but I must still have some programing opportunities with it.

So I'll take a turn running the net next week. Thanks, Dempsey for the script and roll. I've enjoyed these nets, both just to chat with people in the group and to try out different radios/antennas/locations/programming. As I have indicated, my primary interest in amateur radio has been for the emergency use, but just like any tool, it is only as valuable as my knowledge and familiarity with using it.

We had a pretty light attendance last night, but I understand some people are out of town actually enjoying the great outdoors. Let me know what time is best for everyone next week. I can do 8:30, 9:00, or 9:30 pm. I suspect we will go with whatever will give us the best attendance.

I need to get on from my Jeep. Meant to do that last night but got distracted by other things.

RME net #7 just finished. Good turnout tonight, including one visitor. Here are the participants - please jump in and correct me if I mis-identify anyone.

KE8L--Eric (unimog) as net control
N7SHZ--John (gijohn40)
KJ7DCP--Lane (lhracing)
KC7MDT--Cade (mr_cade)
KE7KVP--Marc (mbryson)
KI7TWF--Davy (mesha)
KJ7Y--Bret (Maverick)
K7FJM--Chad (Starskey)

Chad was our visitor and just found us on the repeater. He owns a Jeep and will look up the web site later to sign into the forum. (edit: he is on the forum now as member Starskey)

Thanks to Dempsey for getting this running, He actually jumped in the conversation right after the net closed. I'm happy to pass the baton back to Dempsey or anyone else who would like to take this on next week.
