I had a feeling Area BFE would never come back when the 'new owner' took over. That was one place I never took the buggy, and really wished I did. RIP Area BFE/Strike Ravine.

Is it me or is anyone else having a flashback to the guy who decided to put a campground at the base of lionsback to charge everyone who drove up it and make millions?

Ironically that was also SITLA land. In that case the lease with the campground was terminated and the State or Utah's SITLA folks decided to close Lions Back and the original Hells Revenge exit to "protect the future real estate value of the property"

I was wondering what the deal with that was... Good to know. It is kind of fun to explain when driving past Loin's Back with Moab first timers, that "back in the day" we used to drive up that...

Side note

The part in Dave's message about the county wanting the development seemed a little bought and paid for... What did everyone else think?

I can certainly wait, I find that funny, 3 minutes, 40 people vs 5 minutes to you who brought it up.

Perhaps I consider my 5 minutes more valuable than the 2 people's who asked here lol. Look, it's not done yet, as I've stated twice... once is done I'll share it. I don't want to have to update and attach photos as it fleshes out in 5 different places. I count my spare time in minutes these days and I'd rather spend those 3 minutes working on land use issues not making your life more convenient.

Hundreds of RME members are on ExpUt, for those that want to stay up to date as the story develops, they'll find the 3 minutes. For those less inclined, again I'll share it around once it's complete.

Lastly, I didn't "bring it up", The OP did, I simply invited those wanting more info an option to do so.

It’s been a long but short 2 years since our temporary closure. Big Plans were made and obstacles, like always have made accomplishments slower than we would of liked. AREA BFE has been busy non the less. To start the clean up of the property was a chore with the size and damage. It’s taken some time to accomplish. Mother Nature has been hard on it. Huge wash outs in the canyons and roads have had to be repaired and repaired again. Trail repair and removal of bypasses is pretty complete and grown in and almost invisible with this closure. The property took a big hit with our pinion trees dying and rogue wheelers burning trees. The process of cutting and clearing those dead trees is a project in itself but is cleaning up nicely. Trash is pretty much all gone and buckets of nails from burned pallets all picked up. This has been accomplished by friends and family that have donated their time and greatly appreciated. The vision is moving forward day by day. AREA BFE has its initial goals but took some great input from the SXS community, well known rockcrawlers, and top production companies. Having those small invites and filming done over the past two years has opened doors and motivated us to push on with the excitement everyone has presented. GOALS!!!!! Well AREA BFE is reaching for the stars. RV spaces, small cabin rentals, SXS rentals, and the new sister company AREA BFE Tents pushing remote camping throughout the park. Wheeling passes will come with all daily rentals. Accomplishing these goals is a big task. So to do it properly a company has been hired to do a master plan and a professional set up on infrastructure and layout. Two main requirements we need to make this all work is power and water to the property. Again a very time consuming task and with Corona setting us back we finally have a penciled in time for water. We should have a company starting the water project sometime this month. Everything should start to fall in place after that. Please check back to this page for updates. We will try to keep everyone updated as the progress goes.
