That's kind of my point. I'm not saying hitting a baseball is easy...very far from it...but neither is bowling a perfect game or throwing a high ton.

The gamemanship in soccer makes it completely unwatchable (actually, women's soccer is void of that, and is great to watch), but at least they break a sweat. There are no fat soccer players. You probably gain wait playing baseball.

Just like I was too busy camping to ever join scouts, I was too busy playing sports to ever play baseball ;)
I agree with Hemingway, there are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.

I don't see any white sand in that picture. Are you hunting the missile range or how far have they spread?
We are hunting off-range (my son's tag). I'd be in trouble if that was on the missile range since they don't allow any photos besides very close up pics of your trophy.

Oryx range far and wide, and are now found on properties adjacent to the WSMR, including private land, USDA property, USFWS property, NM State property, and USFS and BLM land. I have seen them miles from the missile range boundary. The NM Game and Fish allocates 100 tags each month June through March that are good for public land (mostly BLM and state land) and private with permission. That photo was taken on BLM land near the missile range.

Very interesting. I may have to get in touch with you for some pointers. I'd love to do that. New Mexico will always have a place in my heart. I spent a week or two every summer at my Grandparents house in Alamogordo.

You remind me that I still have not been up to the ice caves, and I think I'll try and fix that this weekend. What other nifty stuff in the area should I take the time to see?
Bloomington lake is in the same area just one canyon over (south). Pretty cool mountain lake to see! There’s fish in it too if you wanted to throw a line in. It gets crowded there though… you can get to it a shorter way on trail from the ice caves but I’m not sure I’d recommend it. I took a stock Dodge Cummins over it years ago back in my younger days and my wife about killed me. Best to go back down Paris canyon and then up Bloomington canyon.

Take a good flashlight with you there’s another cavern next to the main one that many people don’t know about. You have to get duck down and/or crawl for about ten feet 😎
