Work Boots

I really like Keen work boots. I work outside a lot so only composite toe for me. Steel or Alloy get WAY too cold in the winter. I also only get waterproof. The last several years I've been running Davenports. The sole wears a bunch at first but once most of the siping wears off they hold up pretty good. All the Keens are quite a bit above $100 though. :(

I had a pair of Keen work boots recently (love their hiking boots) and they absolutely fell apart in no time at all. I was super disappointed, they're very comfortable... but within 6 months, they were junk.

I'm hard on boots at work though, but I've never had a pair of boots come apart like the Keens did.

I have been buying thorogoods the last few years. I have non insulated for summer and insulated for winter. American made and i have to pay for my boots myself but lifes too short to have sore feet from cheap footwear. I even have 2 pairs of thorogood hiking boots that are great and never let me down.

I never thought I'd wear a square toe cowboy boot. My brother in law who works in the oil industry told me I had to buy a pair.
So I picked up a pair of Justin waterproof composite toe work boots last time I was visiting in Justin, Texas. American made.
Turns out they're amazing. Oil / slip resistant and so useful for shopwear if you tuck them under pant legs for welding. And so waterproof I was walking in a stream with them the other day and didn't get even a drop wet.

I just received my pair of these. They are built quite well. Excited to get them broke in.

What kind did you get? I tried Justin's once and thought my foot was gonna fall off!
I pretty much got the same ones he has except different pattern on the upper section. The fact that they are waterproof and have the composite toe is why I decided to try them out. They fit me perfectly right now so I'm a little worried they might be too loose when they break in. I'm a size 12 and these things are freaking boats...

My biggest problem is the safety toe. My toes are really wide compared to the rest of my foot so I have to buy wide boots to get the safety toe wide enough to not rub my toes raw, the Justin's I bought wide and still squeezed my toes so bad I felt like I was slowly breaking them.

Agreed on break in though. I always buy about a half size small and then soak them and wear them for a little bit. Harder with the waterproof for sure but my Ariats that fit like a glove when I first got them are now wiggly on my feet after all the abuse they've seen.

That’s funny, my Justins fit great and my Ariats squeeze the crap out of my toes 😂
