i plan on using a honda motor f22a1,rated at 145 hp and 138 ft/lb's, with an auto tranny from JDM motors as a mid engine for my buggie. i will be welding the center diff. so the first gear in this tranny is 2.71 and the transaxle ring gear is 4.21, axles 5.38...so this will give me a final crawl ratio of 61.38, at 1500rpm's i will be moving 2.8 MPH..pretty good for an auto

axles are 44/14 bolt combo,cromos and CTM's in the 44 and 5.13's or 5.38's
tires. 37/14.5/16 iroks on black steel wheels with beadlocks
4 linked all around with 14" fox air shocks
full hydro steering..

thats about it for now... i plan on having it done before jeep safari.

It looks like a golf cart on steroids! I like it, the chassis is quite simple. Any ideas what it will weigh? Why a 14 bolt? I think a 9" would have been a bit more balanced considering the build... but it's your rig!

i agree a 9" would have been more fitting but its what i have so i will work with it for now...nothing is permanent;) .but as for weight it should be about 2500-2800 lbs

i have forgot the hight and belly measurements but i will be working on it a little today so i will measure it up and get back..

Cool build! Looks like you should be able to finish it up before Easter. Are you doing skins and a hood, or leaving it bare?

i sure hope so....and yes i will be doing skins and i guess you could call it a hood ha ha its about a 1' x 2 1/2' section.. the mail man delivered my wiring harness and ecu's on friday so after i make the motor mounts this week it will be all strung up and should fire up.....

Did I notice an a/c compressor on the motor? Man thats awesome for those hot Moab days. Everyone else will be jealous when they are all sweaty...

That is totally cool! Funny, I was just wondering about the whole transaxle thing the other day (what was done with the center diff). I didn't know the r&p was that low (4.71), that's really cool!

Why that motor/tranny over any other? (just curious)

well my R&P is 4.21 but the 5 speed can be as low as 4.7
i did the motor tranny swap because i was limited on space and the f22 motor is a non v-tec 2.2 liter, it produces more low end torque then most other honda motors..and the motor can easily be fit with a turbo in the future :)

and as for the diff i am just going to take it out and weld it just like a axle diff..i will weld the spiders, then place two pieces of 1/4 " steel and place it in between the spiders and weld that to everything and make like a little box inside :)

Damn I knew I should have took less pics!!!:greg:

Im not sure how long that dana 44 is gonna last ya,the gearing and the fact that the honda trans doesnt use much power is gonna make this have more power than you think!!!!
