2011 OSRC Rule Revisions

Proposed rule revisions for 2011. Add a Pro Mod class just like WeRock. Put F Toy in Pro Mod and delete the F Toy class. Legend vehicles must have some sort of original sheet metal body and frame or they go to Pro Mod. If they have a tube body that is skinned, they go to Pro Mod. Hydraulic steering will be legal in Legend. Leave the Stock class and Unlimited class alone. Let me know what you think.

Cut the stock guys off at 35s? I don't know if the ftoy guys should be bumped all the way to pro mod? I'd say legends but that's just my opinion, they would get eaten alive by guys with 4 links, and front dig. I can't wait!

I think that's great Craig! That will make a very competitive class!

We definitely need something quantifiable for legends like radiator in stock location and sheetmetal must resemble original vehicle.

Perhaps body width at cowl same as stock or "x" amount of stock frame

Obviously tires as marked. My 39.5's measure at 37" lol

Proposed rule revisions for 2011. Add a Pro Mod class just like WeRock. Good idea... I think.

Put F Toy in Pro Mod and delete the F Toy class. Hmm. I personally don't think the Ftoys have a snowball's chance at being competitive. As awesome as many of the drivers are... imagine Beach's FJ40 buggy up against an Ftoy. I think there's too much of a disparity in equipment. :D

Legend vehicles must have some sort of original sheet metal body and frame or they go to Pro Mod.Good idea, but how much? I like this one.

If they have a tube body that is skinned, they go to Pro Mod.Yes. Unless they're an Ftoy.

Hydraulic steering will be legal in Legend. Why not.

Leave the Stock class and Unlimited class alone. Yes. 37's on stockers, since you could actually get 37's on Hummers. :D

Let me know what you think.

Craig

Don't like throwing the Ftoys to the lions. Otherwise, I agree.

Proposed rule revisions for 2011. Add a Pro Mod class just like WeRock.I like this. It would split up the legends class.

Put F Toy in Pro Mod and delete the F Toy class. Im ok with getting rid of the ftoy class, since I'd rather not run by myself, but not sure we could be close to competetive in a promod class. What would the tire size limit be for a promod? WeRock is 37".

Im really ok with whatever you decide. We are just there for fun anyway.

Are the Legend guys OK with F Toys in their class? No changes to tire sizes are anticipated to existing classes and the sidewall designation is how we currently determine the tire size. A 37" tire should be the largest size in Pro Mod, similar to We Rock.

That's a tough call Craig. The F Toys are really caught in between because of their stock like suspension, they will have a tough time in the Pro Mod class. On the other hand they're running a mostly tubed chassis and no original skins, so they're much lighter and durable than a full bodied rig. If they go into Legends they will have an advantage and you will lose some competitors in that class. There's no way my full bodied, fully street legal, daily driver TJ would stand a chance against them.

Give F Toys the option to run in either class, give them a +20pnt penalty for running in Legends and a -20pnt bonus for running in Pro Mod. :)

Do you think you'll lose people in promod if you limit the tire size to 37"?
Unless competitors who traditionally ran unlimited (Carl Neilson, Mike Bailey, Troy, maybe Beach) who have 37" rubber decided to run promod, I think it will drastically close the field down to only a few competitors. (for example it will force rockreligious, 1\4elliptic toy, and Kelly into unlimited).

I'm not experience enough to say

Realistically there is only one ftoy competing, I'm personally not opposed to running against Maveric in Legends, but that's just me.
However, why allow a tube chassis toy based vehicle in Legends when other tube chassis toy based vehicle aren't allowed in legends?

Will a tube chassis toy based vehicle on 38's (like 1\4elliptic toy's) be forced to run unlimited?

I don't mean to muddle things up. Just some things to think about.

Craig be so careful with rules that helped kill rock crawling. Whatever you do just make them and don't change them every event! Also remember that a 35" tire is not that common most everyone runs a 37" or bigger Just my 2cents.

10pts maybe. Main advantage is: no body, but I don't know that it trumps the suspension advantage other Legends rigs have over the Ftoys. :D

any way this ends up, it's going to be a cool event.
