OMG... how often do you eat EGGS?!

Some of us on here absolutely love eggs and feel it should be in its own food group altogether. So I'm curious, how often do you eat eggs? Since it's my birthday I cooked up some nice large eggs last night and again for breakfast today, but typically we have eggs twice a week or so either by itself as a side or in sandwiches. I would eat it all the time if it wasn't so "healthy". And no, I don't give a crap about that eggs-in-a-carton crap, such a blasphemy!

I enjoy eggs. I'd like to try other types of eggs, but as far as I know I've only ever had the chicken variety. Breakfast is for any meal.

Happy Birthday! If I'd known I might have gotten you a nice present. File that under "it's the thought that counts". :greg:

I enjoy me some eggs for sure! Fresher the better. I've considered getting a couple chickens just so I could have fresh eggs :D

Fresh chicken eggs are WAY better than the ones you buy in the store. We had six chickens a couple years ago and we got 4-5 eggs per day. We couldn't eat that many, but they tasted a lot better. The raccoons ate them all or I would still have them.

The only real downside to the fresh eggs is they are really hard to peel if you hard boil them. The fresher the harder they are.

We got tired of hard to peel eggs, so we started steaming them. Works much better. Im not sure how it would be on fresh eggs, but its worth a shot!

I'm not an egg fan. Something about the texture, if you do something like french toast they are fine. My kindergartener likes scrambled eggs for breakfast and will eat them 3-4 times a week.

Goes in spells, some weeks we kill 2 dozen, some none... I'm fine with over easy, sunny side up, break the yoke, scrambled, mixed with veggies, harboiled....

I used to really love eggs but being over here in Korea has ruined them for me. Only because I work night shift and when I go to work the chow hall has breakfast and when i get off work the chow hall has breakfast. So far 5 months of my main choice of food being eggs has really ruined them for me.

Luckily when I get home my wife can make some killer breakfast and is very creative with eggs. Typically once or twice a week we will do eggs.

My wife bakes eggs in the oven instead of steaming or boiling... Easiest method we've found to peel afterwards. Don't know how it would work with fresh eggs, but it's worth a shot!

My little girl will eat ~ a dozen and a half scrambled eggs a week all by herself, and she is only 16 mos. old!

My favorite is a nice fried egg on a juicy hamburger...:freak:

My great grandfather always wanted his eggs kicked in the belly. Broken yolk. I like mine in a piece of bread with the middle cut out with a mason jar lid. scrambled. or in an omlette with lots of cheese and salsa. Jims in A.F. makes a great Greek omlette. Mmmmm good.

When I was doing the Atkins diet I ate them all the time, every breakfast and sometimes for other meals. Now I don't have the time in the morning to make them so they never get made.

I miss your chickens too...

Carl, Sami, you have a local organic resource in your neck of the woods: Jeremy Elieson's parents have chickens. I stop in when I remember, and grab a dozen or two. They are delicious. PM him for directions. :D
