1997 4Runner Trail-Ready ***Price Reduced***

***SOLD***
Sold to a guy who is really in love with it :D

For sale is my 1997 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4. As stated below, it has the e-locker, and initially came with 4.30 gears in the diffs. Over the course of owning it, I’ve changed the timing belt (twice) along with all the other stuff in there (pulleys, water pump, etc.), and I’ve been really fastidious about making sure belts are done at least every other year. The alternator is about a year and a half old, and the valve cover gaskets were done at the same time. I recently flushed the coolant, and even more recently the power steering fluid. The battery is a brand new Die Hard Platinum (same as Odyssey). I just did plugs and wires about 6 months ago, and the fuel filter is about a year and a half old. There are no leaks or drips, and the emergency/parking brake actually works. The front coil-over shocks were rebuilt by HPST in September of 2011 with new seals, wipers, and coil springs. Before driving about 5 hours to southern Utah (Kodachrome State Park) last weekend, I checked the oil at 3500 miles and it was golden in color, and the air filter was replaced one month ago. There are no leaks or drips that I am aware of.

SUPERCHARGER and 7TH INJECTOR are now removed and sold separately

Asking 6,700

1997 4Runner Ltd. 4wd

80-series Land Cruiser wheels (I love these)
255/85/16 BFG KM2 tires (still have a couple years left in them)
ARB Tacoma bumper
Warn M8000 winch
Safari Snorkel
4:88 gears
Sway A Way 2” adjustable coilovers with new coils
OME 890 rear coils (less than one year old)
OME N86C rear shocks
265/75/16 AT spare, about 5 miles on the pavement
2” receiver hitch - non-oem with excellent clearance
Yakima rack
Uniden CB with magnetic antenna
Sony bluetooth head unit with remote
Wet Okole neoprene front seat covers with rear pockets
Brand new Die Hard Platinum battery
Lots of spare and extra parts
(probably some other stuff I’ll think of in 5 minutes)

I have clean title in hand. In the interest of full disclosure, the title is clean, but the vehicle is a Canadian theft recovery that was brought to the US and given a new VIN. The title states that there is an odometer discrepancy. I know that for the past 75,000 miles it has been the best vehicle I've ever owned. Based on the condition of the seats and carpets, as well as the overall condition it doesn't seem like more than the stated mileage, and I've never feared otherwise.

Thanks - yep it gets up pretty good. Honestly the best part is the freedom from constant downshifting on the freeway. the 3.4 is amazing but with that auto trans I think the supercharger is perfect.

Added info on potentially including the rooftop tent in the first post. I'm willing to negotiate if it means everybody wins. :)

What kind of mileage do you get with the supercharger? I've thought about doing this to my Tacoma but I'm getting about 20 mpgs and I want to maintain that.

Thanks

Historically people report about a 1mpg loss with premium fuel on the supercharger. If I'm not thrashing into a headwind and especially on 65mph roads I get 18-19mpg no problem. I've gotten as high as 20mpg but that was with a lot of tailwind.

Ok - I've had positive feedback on the rig, but not a single offer. I'm obviously overpriced. I love my 4Runner, but it's time to move on.

so...

Massive price drop!!!
$8,500

Should go fast at that price. I'm very jealous of whoever steals this truck from you, and I hope they steal it fast because I'm entertaining the sort of thoughts that could get me in very very deep water.
