Don't let what anyone says about Fins and Things discourage you from running the trail. It is super fun. Is it as difficult as Hells Revenge? No, but i would not consider Fins and Things 'just a touristy thing'. It gives you an amazing introduction to the (Sand Flats) area.

Wow! Another big day today. I started out the day sanding the bumpers, the flare and the roof. I’m not a paint pro so I used my orbital sander with 80 grit and a spare piece of 80 grit for touch up where the sander didn’t quite do the job. Then I had to mask the van. What a job! Up and down...
