Are you replacing the upper control arm? If so, take the sawzall to the bushing sleeve and take it out in pieces that way. The chances of that coming out otherwise are slim to none. Those steel sleeves seize to the bolt and it's game over.

Why move it from the door? I hate having to open an tire carrier separately, and if it could be left on the door that would be worth +2000 Expo Points! If it's a strength issue with the door itself, could you reinforce it somehow? There are also tire carriers that rely on the door latch...

Looks good! For mounting things to thin-ish plywood, I'm a big fan of 1/4" T nuts like pictured below. That way you don't have issues with screws pulling out after bumpy roads, and no issues if you have to take things apart several times (wood screws in plywood don't like to be R&R'd much...)

For the t-case? The range is manually shifted via external linkage which is pictured. There is a center differential lock on that particular model (for AWD functionality) that is electronically shifted, and that's the shift motor you're seeing. This model t-case has 4H, N, 4L and the center...
