Torqueflite 999 tranny with torque converter, tranny cooler, adapter and clocking ring for dana 300, $275. Lokar Shifter for same $150. Front driveshaft for a CJ 7 for this tranny setup $75. We ran the trail this weekend and it was great....4 rigs all had a good time.

I think there are some exception trails (AKA pritchet etc.) and then its up to the driver. We just took my 16 year old son in his 3.5 inch lifted XJ on 31's on fins&things for a learning experiment, then hells revenge and the next day poison spider. We had a great time....didn't have any problem...
