    Nate’s longterm tiny shop build

The contractor also charged me $1500 for gravel back fill that 3/4 of didn't get used. I asked for a credit and he said $600. So $900 for what amounted to less then a yd of backfill. I wouldn't think much of it except I had just had 4yds of backfill gravel (unwashed 3/4+ or whatever)...

You aren't alone in your feeling of being taken advantage of and that pricing is ridiculous. With the add-on and kitchen I have seriously questioned all trades. I get an hourly rate based on their experience and education but 8/10 times they send a grunt that barely knows what they are...

    Political So now what

It baffles me how quick both sides are to jump to their "talking points" for EVERYTHING. It is ridiculous. There are all kinds of reasons a ship can lose power and cause this horrible outcome. Jumping to blaming DEI, immigration, COVID, etc is just ridiculous, grandstanding. It...

Get the gorilla wagon. That thing was a life saver foe doing my retaining wall. Moving way more weight then a wheelbarrow and the dump feature was way nice. I have loved mine so far...

Now you guys are making me wonder about my garage and how the door goes. There are no notches in the stem wall for the door track. The track is behind a 2x that is mounted vertically to the framing (likely not the concrete) and wrapped in white facia

Jeep Jeep Wrangler based truck (JT Gladiator)

Well it appears he moved on, and didn't get what he was asking. It's now for sale at Watt's in Utah county for $6k less....meaning, if he traded it in, he was about $10k less then he was asking. Hopefully he kept the bumper lights and shell and sold those separetely...

Don't worry...I had my lumber sitting in front of my house for a good 1.5 months from Oct-Nov getting drenched. All was good (with the lumber anyway 🤣 ) Exciting to be at this step. Nothing better then getting progress on something you've wanted and worked for for so long.

Is it ok to have a "make light of" thread?

Man....some people just smoke way too much stuff. a 3 year old Gladiator with nothing more then lift, regear, tires, winch and bumpers (that is listed anyway) and yet, he is asking $20k over what MSRP was in 2021. I also love the very crappy photos for most of it, and the enticing first phot...

    Political Gender Issues Discussion

What I think is really driving the shift is people looking for was to stand out and get attention. With the increased usage of social media, we as a society see A LOT MORE of what we used to never see because it was far away from us. Now, it is everywhere, and it gets attention. Kids see...

Mental health: it’s ok to talk.

My 14yr old daughter came home yesterday and told me one of her friends attempted suicide on Tuesday night. It breaks my heart for them (supposedly non-binary all of a sudden, but really it is likely they are trying to find a place they feel they "fit in") My daughter went through the same...

    Pike's home addition

It's been a little while and things are pretty much done inside. A few small things to address, such as I need to get the old fridge out and I am having the cabinet above the fridge remade since I measured off the old fridge and a low spot in the floor, so the one I received wouldn't have let...

    Political So now what

You can feel this way, but it is the worst possible way to lead a country. Your ideals are your ideals, but they are not everyone's. You want the country to be run by your ideals alone, and you go as far as to state that's not where we need to be. You would rather force your views on...
