GM 10.5" FF 14-bolt axle, 4.10:1, open diff, northern UT

Local Pick-N-Pull yards get roughly $170 for these, plus you still have to do the labor of pulling it. I'll sell mine for $150 cash only, you load it. It's disassembled partly, no pics right now. It's in Smithfield, near Logan.

Wasn't trying to open a can of worms, let alone start any conflict, but noone with a budget of $15K needs to be thinking about a 4.7 into a $1K LC. That money would get you into a new 4-door Rubi, no mods req. Richard Holdener has pushed a junkyard 4.8 past 1200 HP, so burnouts in 4th is...

I can't speak to the Land Cruiser itself, but Toyota is the worst brand for the engine computers being tune-able. Pretty much the exact opposite of the GM LSx. Being on my second 4.8L version of the LSx, not counting the one in the U-Haul pickup I rented that made me fall in love with the 4.8...

    '95 Cherokee progress thread.

I got the idea that maybe an early AW4 would have a real VB, but I found instead a couple of ways to control it with switches, no computer needed. That looks like the best option so far. And age / mileage has nothing to do with cruise RPM, my '89 S-1- 4.3 had 282,000 miles on the original...

    '95 Cherokee progress thread.

Thanks guys! I realize my 4.0 isn't the same as the GM 3.8L and 4.3L V6 I have experience with, and I know I'll need a little extra cruise RPM because of the 35" tires, so I'm looking to end up at 1900 RPM at 65 MPH. I'm leaning toward the Dick Cepek Extreme Country. My rEsearch says I...

    '95 Cherokee progress thread.

Hey all, I'm not new to off-roading, but I just got my first 4x4 of my own, a white '95 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 2-door with an automatic, and no mods. Well, it has P235/75R15s instead of 215s, but so what? Anyway, I started a similar thread on the Cherokee forum, no interest from them. I have an...

    Somewhere to start!!!

I got my '95 Cherokee because it was better than the '86 S-Blazer I wanted for the same $350, to replace my '94 Camaro daily driver. I had to buy without trying, but once I drove it home, I loved it! I've ridden in a newer Cherokee, but driving my own was different somehow. It has the same...

    Easy trails, SLC?

Thanks guys! I got it temp-tagged yesterday, waiting for the new starter solenoid from Omix-Ada to arrive. I'd be happy to make it a 2-vehicle trip, or more if anyone else happens along. My work lets me turn loose anytime, but my weekends are usually full.

    Easy trails, SLC?

Hey, I'm not new to off-roading, but I've never owned my own 4x4 before. I just bought a '95 Cherokee, no mods yet, and want to try it out. Also, I'm recently married, and she's never been off-road. I moved here when I married her. So where do we go around SLC, say 20 miles or so? Thanks!

    New, converting to 4WD

Thanks everyone! The Explorer shafts got re-drilled to the GM 5 x 4.75" lug pattern, but the front axle will be a Dana 60, which will get narrowed, and I already have a GM 10.5" 14-bolt FF axle for the rear. It'll get narrowed also. My '01 4.8L LSx has the '02 LS1 cam swapped in, and ported...

I have an axle dilemma and I need your input

Your car came with the same 26-spline 7.5" 10-bolt that Camaros got for '82. By '98 the Camaros were combining 305 RWHP with a 28-spline 7.625" version of that axle, running 12.90s at 109 MPH through a T56 on 245/50R16 Goodyears. That Vortec 454 is only 290 HP at the crankshaft, the 4L80E has...

    New, converting to 4WD

Hi all, I'm Steven, I'm 18, I just got a 2WD '87 S-10 already fitted with an Explorer axle and partly converted to an '01 4.8L LSx V8. Been researching front axles, now I gotta start visiting Pick-N-Pull and the other yards, plus I need a transfer case. I'm not specifying exactly which parts...
