There is a documentary on Netflix right now called Wormwood that searches out details of a father's alleged suicide and how it relates to the mk ultra studies. I haven't watched all of it but if one was curious to know more you could start there.

Who says the FBI didn't do something, or several somethings? A freakishly high % of mass shooters were on the FBI radar well in advance of the actual shooting.
Maybe operating under the assumption that everyone at the FBI has good intentions is a flawed assumption given the evidence at hand.
Like it or not, MK Ultra was real. The research they conducted was real and it wasn't without merit (to them).
To think that it hasn't been refined and continued is just ignorance, from my point of view.
How many of the mass shooters over the last decade were on psychotropics? I have first hand experience of the effects of these psychotropics on a very close family member. It was ****ing scary.
Here's a little lesser known fact. Ted Kaczynski was experimented on during his time at Harvard. That experimentation was an extension of MK Ultra.

I would love to assume that the FBI is just incompetent, but the way the crap around the Finicum shooting is playing out is scary.
If there is a sinister portion of the FBI I'm sure it's a small percentage like 5% but just like with local law enforcement, that much power used wrongly in the hands of even 5% is terrifying.

What's really concerning me though is how many of these situations the FBI have "fumbled". It's gotta be more than 5%, at least at the layers we're talking about here. Malheur is just the latest, and the string of previous "oops" are exactly why those militia nuts created the standoffs at the Bundy ranch and the Malheur refuge in the first place.
That was the FBI's HRT who shot Finicum. Those guys are the best of the best, they're as elite as you get without being active military special forces. If they made as many "mistakes" as they claim to have made in that encounter, they shouldn't be qualified to write parking tickets. It's not just incompetence or a few bad apples, it's an institutionalized contempt for anyone not playing by the authorities' rules that makes them think they can get away with this kinda crap. And they do get away with it. It's not just the FBI, it's BLM snipers and no-knock warrants and traffic cops with drop guns and on and on. It's ugly. And it's scary.
