any advice on arm sleeves/long sleeve shirts ?
My older skin is getting thinner and last weekend I brushed a Juniper bush and my arm looks like I've been flayed. It was minor but damn, the blood flow. This wasn't a wreck or anything, just a scrape. I brushed a tree and kept on going but it started to fill my glove.

Gform makes some low profile elbow/arm pads. I often ride in a Patagonia fishing hoody. Any long sleeve tee or Jersey would work though

I haven't ridden in a while, but I have low profile elbow pads/sleeves because I have wrecked a lot. Its to the point I love riding with them cause I walk away mostly unscathed, even if I wreck. I don't recall the brand though.

I need to get some. How hot are they?
They are definitely warmer than no sleeve/ long sleeve, and I sweat a lot anyway, but the extra warmth doesn't really bother me. If it's hot outside, and I know I am doing a long climb, I won't put them on until I start my descent. If I am doing mixed riding, I just wear them and deal with it. I also wear knee pads to protect my legs. I have had too many falls that left me bloodied to go without anymore.

For me, it is more about not bleeding at the end of the ride, so I can ride more often.

Hard to get bloody when you never go riding. When are we hitting a trail?

:shawn:

I know, right?! We need to go out. My schedule opens a little in November. Between work, family, and Lacrosse, I am struggling to do everything I am committed to right now. When I look in the mirror, I don't like what I see compared to when I was riding weekly. I was trying to get into a new bike, but home repairs and vehicle repairs have stolen all my fun money so far.

Early November should be awesome for me!

I am heading to Moab Saturday, riding ahab, then The Whole Enchilada Sunday, likely some recovery ride Monday before coming home. Super stoked to ride Moab again. It's been over a year since my last enchilada ride and I have never ridden Ahab.

I had a blast in Moab the other day. I only got to ride 8 miles, but it was enough to remind me how much I love that place.

These pics are from Zoltar and Houdini in the Klonzo trail system. Great intermediate slickrock trails that don't have much climbing.

I'm thinking of zipping down to outerbike on Friday. I'll be bringing my bike and riding a trail or two there. Is anyone else planning on going to outerbike?

I have to put a plug in for my local coach, Christian Pepper. @rwholbrook's son Harry suggested I take a coaching session from him, and it was worth every penny. If you're looking to improve your biking skills, there's nothing better than a coach. I highly recommend scheduling time with him to improve. You can reach him on instagram @christian.pepper
