Kevin, how are you liking your fatbike? Have you been riding it much? I need to learn to tig weld. I'd love to tear apart some walmart bikes and build some frankenbikes. I'd love to try a 24" rear, 26" fat bike.

I've got fatbikes on the brain after watching this:

I really want to ride eagle canyon one day. I can think of a few sweet bikepacking routes in the swell...

I like it. I rode Goodwater and Black Dragon Canyon on the 4.5 Kenda Juggernauts and while the traction is amazing, the overall inertia and undamped suspension isn't, especially late in the ride when my weight is on the seat instead of the pedals. Lots of rolling resistance too. They do really well through sand traps, and obviously they should be great in the snow. I bought a 29x3 wheelset that I've had down to Eagle Mountain and out on Antelope Island that I like much better for dirt riding, still good traction climbing and in corners but a little more responsive when you spin the pedals, and enough squish that I don't mind the rigid fork yet. That may change as I get faster. I've been commuting and running errands on it too, with the 29x3s it's faster than my XC bike or the 10 speed I was commuting on, and I've had near 60 pounds of groceries hanging off the rear rack and it didn't flinch. I think it's a solid bike.

I have a plethora of potential routes in the Swell and west desert in my head, I just need to get off my butt and ride some. Say when.

I put this little video together for velocirax. Starring... our very own harrison hokbrook!

These racks are the best rack ive ever seen, and built here in utah. 7 bike holder. Fits road bikes and MTBs up to 3.25" tires.

Harrison had fun helping with the video. He loves hanging out with Steve and Tess He knows there will be riding involved It was a bonus to be able to ride with Christian Pepper as well.

I'm not sure how they aren't being sued out of existence by North shore racks. They are a basic copy and the founder of North Shore racks wife once had a long thread on an MTB forum about how they would sue anyone who made one for personal use, lol. I have loved the design since I first saw them. The Whole Enchilada shuttle company has north shore racks on all their vans, so you can assume they work.

The only similarity between velocirax and north shore is that bikes are held vertically.
North shore holds the bike by the fork crown. This one holds the bike by cradling the tire. I dont see how north shore could sue.

Recon racks and alta racks are quite sinilar to velocirax, but even then, each has their own unique twist in the way they hold the front wheel.

The way this tilts back for loading is great. Ive seen kids load their own bikes on one of these. They also have a really cool way to convert it to a wall mounted rack for your garage.

I just saw the rack and told these guys id be happy ro make a video for them. Im not affiliated with them, i just think their racks are the best around.

Ya I haven't bought a North shore because of that thread by the owners, it was super class less. Plus when they were posting about suing people, there was a 4 month wait to order their rack. So I welcome other options. It's a really slick design. Didn't mean to sound negative in my first post.

No, you're totally good. I didn't know NorthShore was doing that, it sucks. It's not like they're hurting for demand... I'm going to get one of these Velocirax soon, then I'll have to bring it over and show it to ya.
