Moving those tires to center of the wheel wells is the coolest part of this whole thing. It always killed me having the stupid tires scrub against the cab mounts. The truck looks amazing, nice work!

Thanks Bryson! I can't get lock to lock on the front with these 35s under there and the 4.5" bs wheels. I wanted to do something closer to a 3.5" bs wheel but I couldn't find anything I liked... so I figured I could try out the spacer adapters. Plus I like the extra stability from the little extra track width.

Coils came yesterday. I ended up calculating 250 10" over a 250 12" (250/250, 125 primary). The ride height came in right where I wanted it after moving the top coil plate down 1". :cool:

At full droop I have plenty of brakeline, steering, and driveshaft clearances. Super happy about this!

Rough measurements show that this is 3.5" lift over what it had before (~1.75" IIRC) but the tires add an extra couple inches to that for the ground to fender-line measurement.

That height looks perfect, one of the lowest sitting SAS Tacos I've seen!

That was the goal! I definitely took inspiration from a couple other builds out there, especially Alec Overtons build which I’ve only seen on Instagram. I don’t know if he has a build thread in the wild

Man. That is sexy.

That is always how I wanted my Rodeo to sit.... ...but no luck. With a 3" body lift and how the suspension was done i just can't get that low.

This makes me want to burn mine down and start over. lol

So I've started on the winch wiring and ran into this strange wire (or rather pair of wires)

It runs from off the top positive terminal (A on the diagram below) on the mosfet (small wire) to the switch on the case, then then they meet back at this terminal which is insulated from the two wires. Best guess I have is that it's some type of thermal safety switch... anybody know for sure? If the labeling was correct, it mounts to the positive leg on the winch which comes from the D terminal on the diagram below. (diagram was from a related search, not mine).

Appears the wire was supposed to terminate on the winch where "D" leads to, which made me assume it's a thermal switch.

No big updates, as I spent the last week down sick and also had many other life goings ons...

Tonight I did end up getting the winch mostly wired up. Waiting on a controller to make sure it all works.

I also tore down my coilovers and put some bump stops on the shafts. I did this similarly on the buggy and have been pleased with it. No extra bumpstop junk on the frame, just a nice squishy stop on the shock shaft. :cool:

I ended up ordering this Kartek shock jaws, the price is definitely right compared to others. They work really well. Good tool to have on hand for sure.

You have to use some heat to get the locktite to soften up and allow the eyelet to spin off, even with a good pair of clamps. Once you hit the right temp, they just spin right off.

I ended up fouling up one of the shock eyelets pressing the uniball back in and messing up the snapring grooves enough that I also ordered a replacement. It's in and works but I'd rather replace it and not worry about it.

I think I'm about ready to flip the truck around and get to work on the rear!

One thing I can't stand is the tire not being centered in the wheel well. After adding a longer shackled to gain some lift and get the pinion at the right angle with the driveline, I mounted the tires and this is what I got:

So I ordered a the Ruffstuff ubolt flip kit, drilled the leaf pad to an offset of 1" and mounted it all back up.

MUCH better. In that process, I also added the extra leaf that came as a bonus with the truck (thanks again @TRD270 !)
It's about an inch higher than I wanted now, but with the addition of a rear tire carrier and some gear, I bet it will settle just fine.

Now it's time to re-gear the rear to 5.29, get a longer rear brake line, tidy up some misc things, bleed all the brakes and hopefully soon flip her around so I can start on the rear bumper. :cool:
