Hey guys I need to get some axle shafts shortened and then resplined, is there a reliable place local to Salt lake, Provo, or Tooele area that I could get that done? Thank you in advance for any information.

It might be cheaper to just order what you need from Yukon or dutchman vs paying shop time for someone to custom cut them.

Dutchman doesn't carry JK front Dana 44 blanks. JK 44 front shafts have larger yokes than standard Dana 44 yokes.
While rolling the splines is the preferred method, cutting the splines is not improper. It just isn't as strong as rolling. Dutchman doesn't roll splines on a shaft that they cut down, so are Dutchman shafts not built properly?

I guess mentioning Dutchman shows I have been doing this too long... 
With all the turn key/plug and play/bolt on accessories and such for JKs you would think there is someone out there to help...
Thinking about it, I bet Julene at Summit Machine in Draper might be able to give you a hand. That crew is great to work with, turns out great products, and will be able to let you know upfront what they can/can't do.

Anthony worked at Summit before his mission. They don't respline shafts. These are JK shafts for a narrowed JK axle, and no one is really doing that. I talked to several vendors at the EJS vendor show about this and they all mentioned Dutchman or Currie.
In regards to Dutchman, they strictly carry standard Dana 44 and Dana 60 blank axle shafts in house. They carry a few other blanks as well, but not any with JK yokes. Dutchman will supply custom cut Dana 44 shafts that would fit this axle, but you would be giving up a significant amount of strength, and you would have to run TJ or WJ stubs and hub units which are weaker than JK stubs and hub units.

When I talked to RCV at the Vendor show, they offered to try to match up their different lengths to make a set tats close enough to work, but I think that's probably way over budget for Anthony (about $1300)
Branik charges 75 bucks to respline a shaft, Thats a bargain

X2 on Branik. They clearanced a set of D60 yokes for me and did good work.

Branik looks great but it looks like they're out in Illinois. I wanted to see if anybody local to the metropolitan Utah could do it so I could avoid shipping costs. If I'm gonna end up having to ship them I'd rather just send it to Dutchman since they're closer.

I wonder why Summit doesn't do it anymore... I have had several shafts splined there in the past.

When I spoke to her about it if I remember correctly I think she said it was because of all the programming time they'd have to put into it vs how often they'd do the job. Just realized that she wouldn't be able to offer it for a reasonable price because they couldn't just throw it into a machine real quick and have it done.
