I can't believe how fast you put this together, Solid work. Impressive. I wish I had those skills.
Thanks. I am really happy with the progress. I am a little over 4 months including tear down. I also tore down and parted my 4runner and my Scout II for parts and sold the rest. I was hoping for being able to wheel it Thanksgiving. I could probably take it out this weekend if it stops raining. I'm not taking out in the mud for the first trip. Haha

A couple more pictures. Skidplate and more panel pics. I am running 3/16 T-1 for the skidplate. It seems way tougher than mild steel. I'm curious how it will hold up.20191120_190631.jpg20191120_190348.jpg20191120_190358.jpg

Finally took it for a spin. I love the cam and torque converter. It really rips. Everything feels good. I took it up to about 45 or so. Went to the parts store. My speedo said I was going 120 so I think I might have an issue there.haha
Flexed it out a bit too. It could go farther. It was super solid. Just didn't want to wreck the stucco on my retaining wall. Everything seems solid so I am hoping to go wheeling today. 20191123_134912.jpg20191123_134924.jpg

Seriously, turned out amazing! Great work, looks like it's going to fit your needs quite well. Hopefully I can check it out in person one of these days.

Get you some UHMW plastic bud, got it under my buggy and it softens the blows drastically and slides nicely!! awesome build by the way

I had the uhmw on my last rig. I did like it. This rig just has more voids under the belly. I'll run the T-1 skidplate and i may put a thin layer of uhmw over it, but I'll run this first.

Also I got the console mostly sorted out. I have to have my cup holders. Haha20191203_213816.jpg20191203_213828.jpg

You're doing a great job man. I've always liked the look of a new buggy with old sheet metal.
I do too. I definitely get a ton of looks and comments the little bit that I have taken33 it out. Almost everyone asks "Is that really a Scout"? And that's with no panels on it. Hopefully I can get panels on it in the next week or so. Everything is working great except my fuel pump. I think I have it figured out. Then it's ready for some real testing.

Great pics and glad to see it out on the trail. The body work you're doing is spot on and well done, just do your best to keep the heat down on the panels. Love it.
