Changed the oil on my 1090. Checked the air filter as part of the service. People act like it takes an hour to get the giant tank off. I was here in 20 minutes on my first go.

It is a giant tank. 20200902_075935.jpg

Opened the air box and found quite a bit of dust had made it past the filter. This is the front cylinder stack.

It boggles my mind that ktm cannot figure out how to build an adequate air box on their adventure bikes. My 690 had similar issue.

Looks like some Power cell pods are on my shopping list.

I replaced the garbage disposal after 33 years of service. The only problem I ran into was my daughter turning the water on soaking the cabinet when it should have been obvious that there was a big hole in the bottom of the sink and tools laying all over the place. This has been a bad year for appliances, first was the water heater, next the dishwasher, and now the disposal. What's next ? I did manage a few minutes to work on the Jeep, wiring up the new digital speedometer.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I've just decided that appliances are junk these days. Mine are all less than 8 years old. I have repaired the power cord on the fridge, heat sensor on the oven, 3-4 repairs to pumps and valves on the dishwasher. At least the microwave has been good. Knock on wood.

I replaced one of the front wheel bearings on my wife's Explorer, I let it go a little too long. Made a run to the bank, and had a bit of steering wheel wobble, grinding, squealing. I took the back roads home. I've only had the new one sitting since March or so.

The vacuum pipes I ordered finally showed up so I made the smoke stop coming out.

Hooked up to the line coming into the intake manifold from the brake booster. Smoke coming out from the crankcase vacuum line and the little elbow pipe from the MAP to the throttle body.

About ten bucks worth of parts. Barely time to hook one beer while hiding in the garage to install. Smoke doesn't come out anymore. Hopefully the P0171 clears itself with a bit of driving now. We'll see. At least I'm imagining it idles smoother now.
