There are some things I like about it. The engine braking is for real. Far better than my last truck. I only drove it to Wendover tonight, so I've got a lot to get comfortable with. I've never driven any kind of auto-ish trans in a big truck until today. We are limited to 65. I'm really hoping that changes soon. I-15 through the 80 mph zones is sketchy when most traffic is passing you at 90 mph.

It could be much worse, they could have gotten you an automatic KW. At least the DT12 is pretty decently programmed, and has a decent creep ability. The DD13 has been pretty reliable as well, I have three of those in my local fleet and aside from a very bizarre starter failure last week they've all been great.

I made this 3000lb boat anchor movable, and got it wired up. I need to put an amp meter on it to see if my phase converter can keep up with it. Its the biggest hp machine i have now. 7.5hp.

I bought stuff for this project probably in April and was waiting for a neighbor to come help me out. Short notice but we started this morning and got a lot done. He had to take off but I got everything around the range and up done on my own.
I still have a bit to do around the window but that'll have to wait for another day.

Thank you sir. This iron worker was the last peice of equipment I sought after. I just don't have the room for anything thing else in my 23x42 foot shop.
I'm sure that cabinet was expensive for someone. They were asking 50$ for it. I got the cabinet and a pile of vice grips thrown in the deal for free since they advertised the iron worker at single phase when in fact it was 3 phase. Here's a 5'5" human next to the cabinet. I'm happy the ironworker is taller with the casters as I am 6'3".

I think you'll end up liking that DT12. We run the DD13/DT12 setup on all of our OTR trucks now since about 2018 and although the driver's were very reluctant to give them a try, now you can't pry them out of the cabs. Fuel economy also came up which was somewhat surprising. The compression braking is very good as well. So far we've seen no downsides.

I got a bit more done on the tile.
I have metal bullnose edging to box the window (the inside of the window is going to be tiled as well) and I spent a ton of time fiddling with that yesterday. My neighbor said to just butt joint the pieces but I think that'd look bad so I decided to try and cut the picture frame 45s. It took a while and I made a little jig to help but I got some cut on scrap that fit together tightly. I just couldn't get myself to cut the actual pieces though because if I screw them up I'll have to buy more and I had to order and have these ones shipped. Anyway, after staring at the window for too long I gave up for the day. I'll try again after work.
Edit: now I feel stupid because it took me 2 minutes to find a thing on youtube just now that showed a guy using a chop saw to cut the trim. I was using my bandsaw. That's going to be a lot easier and with a lot less "risk" at screwing it up.

Spent the better part of the days this weekend attacking the bottom paint on the boat. Not sure what was used on the first coat but it wasn't bottom paint but thick, chunky stuff. Then the PO covered that up with a few more coats of actual bottom paint. The problem was it was never prepped right so it was flaking off badly. It took a surgical flapper wheel on the grinder, then a 40 grit, then 60 grit, then 80 grit pass with the orbital grinder to remove it. Nasty stuff. I'm about 75% of the way finished after 12 hours in 3 days. Gotta love boats.
