That bed will be just fine. More hairspray, and probably bring the bed up a hair. It should just barely brush the nozzle.

Thanks for the hints. I learned about hairspray last night after a 2nd attempt resulted in complete separation from the bed. Going to try Cura as the slicer software. I wasn't impressed with the options the creality canned software has. Cura looks pretty good. Also based on 100% factual internet research, apparently the PLA that creality ships with the printer is less than ideal and people have much better success with filament from other manufacturers. I'm actually surprised at how well, the first test went. Totally expected this learning curve, and as of right now it's fun to mess around with it. Not frustrating yet.

We use cura. We've had good success with matterhackers MH build PLA..we go through about 30 rolls per month. The 3d solutech has been generally OK, but we had about 3 months last year where 3 out of 4 rolls were junk.
It's a ton of trial and error, but kinda fun to figure things out. I've found that most of the settings in cura aren't worth messing for us since we only print 1 thing so our settings never change... Which is nice.

I just use Cura also, normally I just tweak the bed temp and sometimes will put in a value for elephant foot if I'm printing something that needs to move. If I'm printing something like TPU (flexible filament) I'll also adjust speed so it prints slower.

It probably had nothing to do with the cats and more to do with that fact that with all the places you could go snowshoe that sleds aren't allowed, you chose to hike on the sled trail.
