I had the china virus early last year. I really thought I might die. I was pretty scared for awhile there. Wondered if I'd wake up the morning type of thoughts. I never had to go to the hospital, but checking my temp and blood oxygen all day long, was an around-the-clock job for weeks. Some family members had it much worse. But thankfully they've all survived so far. The worst was in the hospital and rehab for almost two months.

The Mom of a life-long friend got it from my friend back in December. He wasn't aware he was a carrier when he visited his Mom. A couple days later he started to feel sick, got tested, and sure enough it was the china virus. A couple days later his Mom started feeling sick , another son got an in-home test, and she tested positive. A week and-a-half later, she died in St Marks Hospital.

I don't really know anyone here, except for meeting one member years ago, so feel it's not my place to preach.

I'll just share a thought, and say I'm a conservative libertarian, who wears a mask whenever I go in a public establishment. A good mask (N95), not a bandana or piece of cloth with elastic loops which I've seen a lot. Why?, because it's a virus that doesn't care who you are, or who your loved ones are, or what your political leanings are.

A Dr friend and the Pulmonologist and Nurses who took care of very sick family, have all said that a good mask can help, especially if all people wore them in close quarters around strangers.

Yet I still have to wear a stupid mask to work. Because of a federal rule. Still haven’t figured out how the TSA has the authority

The question I want answered is how are they going to heavily push mail in voting if people are not being forced into home confinement. I really expected them to continue to push for restrictions because it is the only way they can push for it.

It makes me increasingly angry when I'm driving around rural areas and see some outrageous pro-jab propaganda billboards that are still up. Those billboards are not aging well.
Was kinda shocked in Palm Springs over the weekend the same coffee shop that said I had to provide proof vaccination a few weeks ago didn’t even require a mask!

Now just hoping come March 18 I don’t have to wear one in the airport anymore.

so, over 2yrs into this, I've had to wear masks to fly a couple times. To go to the Jack Daniels tour in TN. I couldn't get Chinese in town for a while, or see a movie, not that anything really came out that I wanted to see in a theater anyway. I didn't go shopping, my kids went instead or I got things shipped to me. I had to wear a mask to get in to Bewilder a couple times, for a few seconds. I was exposed many, many times, and yes, I knew people who died from it, but not a one of them was the picture of health, or youngish, etc. I believed and still do that it's a real virus. I believed and still do that it was and did mostly affect older, less-than-fit individuals, with some outliers, as ALWAYS. I kept my distance from nearly everyone, but I do that anyway, because bell curves and whatnot.
Other than the rampant stupidity everywhere and the horrifying display of obedience to governmental, idiotic overstepping, not much of MY life changed all that much on a functional level. It makes me very, very sad to see how willing so many were to not only blindly obey, but how belligerently ignorant a lot of people were, and are, about the whole issue. Not a bit of question, not a shred of inspection, nothing, just aggressive capitulation everywhere. Our self-gratifying "leaders" disgusted me with the rhetoric, and so did my fellow citizen fanatics on both sides.
Things are going to change, even a casual student of history can tell you that-- what's more difficult to know is where we are on American civilization's arc. The rapidity and nonchalant dismissal of COVID as the Scourge To End All Scourges is notably intentional and repulsive. As usual, the loudest Chicken Littles haven't got much to say anymore, and will go unpunished for their hysteria and contributions to social dismay. Alas, alas, what a world we have built.

anyway. I can't sleep, so eff y'all :cody:
