This agenda is moved from laughable too ridiculous. Not a person living today that was subject to slavery within the United States. Why the hell should someone get paid/pay for something that has not occurred within our country in anyone currently livings lifetime. I'm over the slavery card in the US.

Things are getting interesting with Elon becoming the majority shareholder (nearly 5x Dorsey) at Twitter. An outspoken user buying a controlling portion of the company.
He is the largest shareholder by the amount he owns in relation to other shareholders, but he does not own a controlling majority of the stocks. I don't know how the big company stock % works in relation to voting and influence, but can he really accomplish much since he is only about 9% of total company stock?

I'm just saying it's no easier for the US to be self sufficient, than it is for you or I to be self sufficient. You and I are dependent on people outside of our home to supply us with goods and services just like the US is dependent upon other economies to provide it with goods and services.

Being frugal isn't hard. Shit, I haven't been paid in 3 years, I make things stretch. Being frugal isn't the same as being self sufficient, and if the US were to be self sufficient like you propose, your frugal way of life would seem like the lifestyle of the rich and the famous compared to what your new reality would be.
Stores could close tomorrow and I would be self-sufficient in my home for a minimum of one year without additional food, gas, water, electricity, etc. Water and sewage would become the biggest problems after the first growing season. It is possible to live comfortably on medium wage-earning but people will not make the frugal decisions required. Possible but not probable.

I thinking that's awesome you have that much water, food, electricity, and sewage capacity to go that long. I'm still not sure why you keep bringing up this living wage thing though.

So saying this regardless of what side you aline with.

These protests at peoples homes need to stop. Last year it was at 1000’s of police officers homes. Now this circus at the SCOTUS homes.

All for freedom of speech and right to assemble. But needs to be some protection of your castle. Walk around with your signs, disrupt all your want in front of a police station, city hall or the courthouse, but this nonsense needs to end.
