Any Mtn Bikers on RME?

The “kids ride shotgun” seat I ordered off alibaba showed up finally. Only took about 5 weeks. But hey it was 1/3 the price of the real one and is probably 100% the exact same thing. The little LOVED it. Zero hesitation. After she gets better at not getting distracted and standing up or letting go, I don’t think a more mellow mtb trail would be out of the question.

She'll be ready for this in about three weeks.

It's my grandson's 7th birthday and he needs a better and bigger bike and the only way that was going to happen is if I took care of it. I like to ride with him and his current 20" just isn't cutting it. Its a POS, he picked it out when he was 5 and I think he made the decision based on color. Here is what he will be getting. Its already picked up and sitting in the garage covered up. Its a XtC Jr Disc 24. It looks like a pretty descent bike and I'm excited to get him out with me and his two uncles.

That's the same bike I just bought my boy. It's a couple years older, picked it up used on KSL for $75.

Are there any tricks to painting a bike? I'm thinking about picking up a used pink strider for my youngest and thought that maybe I'd paint it. Is a rattle can acceptable or what should I you use?

I painted a strider a few years ago. A light sand and some Home Depot rattle can. Results were what you would expect, looked great day 1, a year later total garbage.

When I painted my girls raw carbon frames I followed this

I am really happy with the results. It was not an insignificant time commitment, but it was spread out a lot. I’d work on them for 10-20 minutes (spray a coat), then let it dry for 24 hours. Probably took me 2 weeks all in.

I even used the same paint brand as that video, with the 2k clear coat. You can find it here https://usa.specialistpaints.com/collections/kustom-canz-custom-aerosol-cans

My riding buddies and I rode WOW last night. I can't believe I haven't ridden that trail until now. Such an awesome ride and the dirt was fantastic. If you aren't good at turns at the top, you will be better at the bottom or you will be angry.

WOW is a great Tuesday morning trail, but I find it frustrating on a Saturday. I really wish they'd cut a climbing trail and make it a downhill only trail.

I suppose that would just make the blowout and braking bumps worse though

Hmmm, I’ll be up that way this weekend, is it best to ride the road up and wow down?

Road up is steep but would probably be "easier" than riding up the trail, it is pretty long if you ride all the way up and back down.
I would be up to shuttle it if anyone else is, I am hoping to have my new cascade peak this weekend and would be a great trail to get back onto a full suspension.
