The Blackhorse Atlas looks interesting. Or were you wanting to build one yourself?

That's the exact concept I'm after. Just want less hhhuuuggggeee tube and it just needs to work with the tonneau cover. Probably drop the "tray" down to where it will just clear the rolled up tonneau

Have you seen John Williams @ImpulseOffroad prerunner tire rack? Best looking one I've ever seen, you can have it customized for 2 tires, Jack, gas can, etc. It ties into the frame, too. It's the only rear rack I'd consider.

I'll have to take a look at that. My spare is stuffed in the stock spot. I'd like to keep it there. There is NO room for anything bigger unless it was totally deflated?

That's pretty much the look I'm after.1662983957671.png Instead of the spare in the bed, I'll leave it where it is under the truck. Figure out a way for the tonneau to function and add a "basket"/rack about half way between the roof line and cab. I could mount an ARB compressor to the lower part of the rack and add the Milwaukee type boxes to the top part of the rack.

This "truck" is my only truck so it'll have to function for some truck things. I'll likely need a single car hauler trailer again at some point for my Buick. When I had the JKU, we didn't have a pickup. It kind of worked but didn't really. Hoping this JT functions just enough that it will. It will handle water softener salt, dog food bags and similar without issue for sure.

What about a Decked unit? Gobs of lockable storage and big drawers with rollers?

I assume you're talking something like this?

I've used an open pickup bed for my whole life. Not sure about adjusting to that type of system. I assume I could strap anything bigger to the deck top? I'm still leaning to the "chase bar"/light bar/multi-tube "roll" bar

Just looked this up. (need to get to work this morning)

I wonder if I can just cut some 2x4 or 2x6 tube into about that shape with a little press brake action? (I have a bit of that laying around so the cost is perfect)

All of that stuff looks like it would pair well with an angry eyes grille and some fab fours bumpers so I’m not into it but alas form follows function and different strokes etc etc. I just wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t say “don’t do it” lol

Fab Fours for sure. It's the only thing I can put on there and tell people they can't afford :D

Had a very difficult mod on the docket for this morning while waiting for someone to come tell me the XJ is a pile. Right...it is. It's a 20+ year old XJ

Anyway, there was some serious fab going on with the credit card "truck" this morning.

Collection of tools minus the black zip ties (they're the best ones). I'm curious how this bumper will affect cooling. I'd imagine I'll need to buy a different unit (I like the stock steel ones personally)?

Pretty intense wiring. 20220924_085501.jpg
