I wasn't at the AC/DC show but every other GA up until that concert that I went do didn't even have chairs in the GA section. It was literally a "mosh pit" with 1-2k of your closest rock friends. Anyone that passed out for whatever reason was lifted up and passed forward to security guards near the stage.

After the AC/DC show, there were rows of chairs in "GA". Open seating but you needed a seat. Security before the concert made it VERY CLEAR that you were to stay in your seats or they'd shut the show down.

No, that one was "GA". But prior to that AC/DC concert there hadn't been but a handful of shows with floor "festival seating" (I think that's what they called it?).

And I was not on the floor for that one. Even I wasn't stupid enough to try and survive on the floor with the hottest babe in the building on my arm. I was engaged by the time of that AC/DC show and my lifestyle had calmed down tremendously. I was sitting sedately in the lower bowl with the rest of the metal geezers for that one.

At age 11 in 1988 I seen Guns and Roses open up for Iron Maiden at the Salt Palace, glow sticks and beer bottles were thrown at Axl Rose, he threatened to not play and everyone started chanting "MAIDEN". Iron Maiden put on a hell of a show.

You mean when MJ broke Bryon Russell's ankles? I was a huge Jazz fan back then, kept Cindy waiting to go to the hospital for our first born to see Stockton break the assists record against the Nuggets. But that wasn't no push off. Russell was committed to going one way and it was the wrong way...

I was there for that too. Guns and Roses totally stunk up the joint. Horrible.

Back in my day... Buying parts for my '61 Scout at Lake City International... Buying vinyl at Odyssey Records. Rocket motors, Cox car parts and slot cars at Douglas Models. Leather working supplies at Tandy Leather. Reloading supplies at the Gallenson's 220 S. State location. Going to the federal building downtown to buy topo maps. Playing pinball at Earl's on State. State Street after midnight on Fri. and Sat. nights during the summer was too much fun. Brimstone keg parties were an eye opener for an innocent Mormon lad such as myself.

My friends dad was one of the last owners of the Utah Stars. I was lucky enough to be a ball boy for a couple of games here and there. I got an ABA red white and blue basketball signed by Moses Malone, Ron Boone, Randy Dentin, etc. Wished I still had that ball but I would play with it and the names got really faded.

Back in my day we "borrowed" giant rolls of autobody masking film and paper towel rolls to gift wrap the Principal's daughter car when asking her to a dance, might have decorated the trees and house to set the mood.

We also lined truck beds with tarps and when the Cruise In was over we dragged up and down Logan main street until the next day in our redneck hot tubs.
