Interesting, when we were talking about getting one for my wife's truck (with a lot of options) it was in the mid 6's.

Mine is pretty basic. Vinyl seats, rubber floors, and base radio. That being said, you can find many like mine on dealer lots, except for the shortbed option.

Pretty basic F250 crew cab shortbed with 7.3, cruise control, power windows and a few other necessitys is coming in at $56k.... $16k more than I'd really want to spend. 🤷‍♂️

I've never been a Ford guy and after our EcoBoost experience, I don't know that I want to try again honestly.

Mine is more fancy than that and was $54k. But I know there have been some price increases. If I’d ordered mine 2 weeks earlier I would have saved 2500. XLT, FX4, camper package, 4:30 gears locking diff. Bucket front seats, factory warn winch, dual batteries, upfitter switches and old man step

Edit: mine is also only an extended cab. New ones are pretty roomy if you don’t need 4 doors can save some coin and wheelbase. More than welcome to crawl around mine next time you’re in SLC

Don’t think of it as a Ford, think of it as an LS but better 🤪

Thinking a slide in will be in my somewhat near future 🤔 I’ll put it on Tinky.. my 99 Superduty. I’ve been down the toy hauler road and did not care for it at all so I sold it.

I’ve taken some good notes from this thread. Those Torqlift brackets as kinda spendy for what they are don’t you guys think? I’m not a smart man but maybe I could build some? Any advice? Quit being cheap and just pay to play? Thanks

Definitely could build your own as long as you have decent fabrication skills. In my opinion a strong rear connection is the most critical as it will experience the most forces during a stop.

BTW, the Torqlift brackets are quality and often show up for sale on KSL for less than new $.

Been watching new truck camper prices and they have continued to go up - insanity if you ask me. Northern Lite and Lance can be over $80K...

The previous owner of my truck (@mesha) made some nifty camper mounts. All 4 plug in like a receiver hitch so they're removeable. The rears poke out the sides of the trailer hitch cross-tube, the fronts have the "receiver" welded vertically on the frame.

They never get taken out, so he just welded some on permanently, to the truck that replaced mine.

However, it was nice for me to have them removeable, since I got them sandblasted and powdercoated later. (the first-round spray paint worked well for a while, but started rusting)

I have since put a set on the last 3 trucks. Usually I just cut them off and weld them back on the next truck

I hear ya. The used marked is insane as well.

I found if you put ‘overland’ in the description somewhere you can easily ask $10k or more for a slide in….

$25k for a new pop up gets me?? Unreal 😳.

Sounds like the way to do it 😎. Removable would be really nice my shins would thank me lol.

Saw this Ford F350 with a flatbed and slide-in camper, equipped with tool boxes around the sides and under the bed and thought it was a great example of what I have in mind. Looks like a nice build, well thought out.
