Wife went out of town for a long weekend with her girlfriends. She left me a Honeydo List, the top item being, Fix the backyard sprinklers or else! <gulp>

After 4+ hours of digging dirt and cutting roots from the neighbor's tree, I'm finally about ready to repair the water line. Oh, I need to repair the wiring as well since it got ruined, too.

But, wait--there's more!

In my photo above, I thought all I needed to do was repair the PVC pipe. As I went to do so, I found out I was wrong. See the valve sitting there (where the protective plastic cover thingy used to be)? Turns out its housing has also cracked, so I'll need to get a new valve and install it, too.

Removed carpet and laid down some LVP in the family/living room over the weekend. Kitchen is next.

Biggest kid was up the ladder today helping me replace the old as dirt mercury vapor lamp on my shop with this LED unit.
He did almost everything (with direction) besides the hole saw and taking the old heavy fixture down.
Very proud Dad.

In other news if anyone wants a mercury gas lamp with some spare bulbs. It's FREE

and you too can cast an erie spectral green light on something...until I go to the dump.

11 months later and I’m back inside this damn dryer. I’m about the furthest thing from an electrician, but through a process of elimination, following troubleshooting guides, and mildly shocking myself several times I’ve found that the thermal fuse is bad. Should have a new one here tomorrow.

Bad airflow is what typically takes those out. Check your air vents and make sure that they are open and clean.
