The rustyjeep21 95 Cherokee aka Lurch

Heres the homemade sliders, this was the first tubing i've ever bent. This is the trunk slide/organizer we built, it works great Tire carrier, wasn't so easy since the bumper was designed to be tight to the body and not have a tire carrier. Made the gas can carrier removable since most trips...

    Jeep JKU diesel engine discussion

If they do make a truck with a diesel and the nukizer front clip I will be camped out at the dealership waiting for the first one off the truck. However jeep likes to tease us with awesomeness then let us down.

Because Roadkill, -or- I bought an old ugly domestic car

That's the Maverik in my hood! Needless to say anyone who has been watching roadkill has had the same thoughts. How bout a supercharger on the v6 until it blows up? At least give us a burn out video with the little tires before you swap them out?

Jeep WJ died while commuting -- now in anti-theft/immobilizer mode? Ideas?

I have no idea on WJs but this trick does work on XJs and ZJs. When the alarm is acting up use your key in the trunk to lock/unlock the vehicle.

    Rubicon and Fordyce Aug 2015

Fordyce is a tough and awesome trail, the Stranger Danger Ranger didn't get to go, and the Dude Magnet stayed in camp. Ill work on getting the picture up in the next day or two.

    What would you buy?

An XJ set up right could do better than 15 mpg and still be a capable wheeler. Mine with a manual transmission 4.56s and 33 10.50s would get near 20 mpg running between 70-75 mph. You should be able to get a pretty nice one within your budget. Just my 2 cents.

    Rubicon and Fordyce Aug 2015

You could run from one end to the other in a day with a couple of decent rigs. However it really is worth taking your time. We were on the trail for three days to run from Tahoe to loon lake and back. Next time I would like to take four days.

    Rubicon and Fordyce Aug 2015

Onward to Fordyce, for Sierra Trek we set up camp at Meadow Lake that is basically at the end of Fordyce trail. The trail is roughly 12 miles, to get from camp to the trail head was roughly 50 miles 20 on dirt . We wanted to be in the front of the group and decided to gas up in Truckee on our...

    Rubicon and Fordyce Aug 2015

Heres old sluice, at the top of the picture is how far i made it. I was doing just fine until i heard a very heartbreaking "BANG". After some keen observation it was determined either a c-clip broke or the axle shaft broke, seeing as my tire was an extra foot out the driver side...

Sweet van you got it just in time for cheap diesel. Dream vehicle for me. We have a 97 7.3 CC and love it. We run a Banks down pipe, no cat, AEM cold air intake and an edge CS tuner with pyrometer. Seems to be a good combo with not much smoke.

Four Link vs Custom Alcan Leaf Springs

I prefer vehicles that have links on the front and leafs in the back. They do well in most conditions as long as you control wheel hop. With links front and rear it requires a lot of math to figure roll center, anti squat etc. (all of which is over my head)
