A 70u to my knowledge has a nice super smooth bottom? Any of the 10.5 inch gear sets should work but I would double check with gear manufacturer like Yukon and you probably need a taller gear set like 5:13 for truck pulls? Depending on your torque output?

Yeah it's crazy there is little to no info on the 70S...still researching... It's definitely a monster of a rearend

I have been researching it... Just wanted to see if there are lockers and taller gears for it...which it seams there are...I guess depending on identification inside some do thicker or thinner gear's to make up for this sort of oddball rearend...but it looks like I would have to modify...

Good info... I stumbled across a Dana 70 out of a 07 diesel Chevy van with a 12 bolt cover... Trying to figure out which variation it is? Tag says 70s? It has open diff 3:73 gears and disc breaks... Thoughts of it for future project
