alright i have a 91 gas tank skid plate (stock ) will it fit on my 99 xj? people tell me no i just want to know why ? any advice

The engine I just got is missing the oil filter adapter, the oil filter is screw right into the block. Is that ok to run? any problem with that set up? I do have the old adapter.

its for my buddy xj we are changing his brake lines in the front for longer ones. so one of them is totally strip and i cant get it off of the hard lines any ideas .....
