Pessimist Prime? A cabover crawler hauler

Shane is done with what he wanted to do. Obviously it was more than I was expecting. Now I just need to go get the thing

Pessimist Prime? A cabover crawler hauler

Progress slowed a little. Shane made these stacks for a cab over he was building a few years ago. He ended up selling it with the stock stacks so these have been sitting. Another smoking deal and they are currently being installed. I will most likely cut them down a foot or two He...

Pessimist Prime? A cabover crawler hauler

Quite a bit happened today! He was able to take it for a drive. Everything seems good. Temp held around 190. Oil pressure isn’t high but it is normal for this engine. He said it goes down the road good at 80. That makes me happy. Head wind slowed it down a little. I can’t...

Pessimist Prime? A cabover crawler hauler

Shane is slowly tinkering with the truck. He got the good used steer tires put on and even gave the wheels a hill billy half ass polish. He said they need sanded and he ain’t got no time for that. Haha. So much better. Then he said he got tired of looking at the stickers on it...

Pessimist Prime? A cabover crawler hauler

The larger sleeper isn’t as attractive on the outside but almost a need on the inside! There is 15 feet of frame behind the stacks. Planning a 16 foot flatbed plus a dovetail. The Volvo bed was 16 foot total. So I will have a little more room

Pessimist Prime? A cabover crawler hauler

I’ve been a fan of cabovers as long as I can remember. Probably transformers as a kid if I were to take a guess at the start. I had been mostly happy with my Volvo semi truck. I paid 3000 for it, put like 1500 into building the flatbed, tires, and a radiator and that’s really about it...

Heavy duty (HDT/semi) for tow rig?

My first one was a 85 Volvo with a 6v92 Detroit and a 9 speed. The 2 stroke diesel was miserable. Sounded cool (for a minute) but was pretty weak My second was 99 Volvo with a 12.7 60 series Detroit and a 10 speed. Both trucks were ugly as sin but I loved that 12.7. Loads of power...

Mental health: it’s ok to talk.

Did you guys hear about the lady that was hit and killed on highway 89 in south Weber a week and half ago? It was one of my best friends after high school. She was one the happiest people I’ve ever met. She talked me off a cliff on a couple different occasions. We pretty much lost...

General Tech How would you build a rear steer axle?

Also, All of my rear steer function is on my shifter. Left and right is a rocker switch on the top, return to center is a trigger in the front. Highly recommend that too

General Tech How would you build a rear steer axle?

I 100% disagree with this. I rely on my return to center completely. Rear steer can get you in trouble in a hurry. SUPER slow crawling it is not as important but I still use it. Moving at any speed at all it makes you look like a way better driver than you actually are. Leroy...
