A Little Rant on Today's Generation of Kids and Their (lack of) Work Ethic

I like all of the comments because they show that hard work and determination pay off in the end no matter what you do. All of my children and grandchildren have good jobs, some I would not choose, and all but one out of 13 are millionaires . Of course with today's government help that is not...

    Record Snow pack, floods next?

The Church of Jesus Christ believes that politics will not be discussed in church which means we believe in the separation of church and state but we owe allegiance to the country which requires voting and running for political office. We believe in the 10 Commandments and carry those beliefs...

    Record Snow pack, floods next?

Good reply but I think the politicians we vote into office after they convince enough of us that they will the right thing for the State are the main problem. I remember my great grand father Waddle that owned property next to the Missouri River. It was rich bottom land that would flood about...

    Record Snow pack, floods next?

I pray for everything so you can blame me, NOT. The politicians we vote for are responsible for preparing the state for things like floods and we vote for them so ultimately the fault is ours. ours because we do not insist the law be followed and politicians carry out their duties.

Actually, it is on you and all Utah voters that voted for politicians that did not prepare for the future.

    Record Snow pack, floods next?

Looks like we have no excuse for flooding or not having enough water during droughts.

    Record Snow pack, floods next?

Thinking about all this water and wondering about the principle of storing when you have plenty to use when there is a drought. Could we store the excess in old mine shafts and caves or build underground guzzlers. Fill all of the lakes and ponds before letting out any water. Set a limit to...

    Political So now what

Stores could close tomorrow and I would be self-sufficient in my home for a minimum of one year without additional food, gas, water, electricity, etc. Water and sewage would become the biggest problems after the first growing season. It is possible to live comfortably on medium wage-earning...

    Political So now what

I am confused. Are you saying it is wrong or impossible to be frugal. I admit that raising fruits and vegetables is still a hobby and we have our years food storage and have had it for over 40 years. I think you are saying that people today do not have the strength to save for tomorrow and...

    I hate Taxes....

This was interesting to me because my taxes went to zero in 2019. Our income is from Social Security, Northrop retirement, 3 rentals, and a retirement account that is tax-exempt but you have to take a minimum distribution each year. I have paid zero state and federal taxes since 2019 and we...
