General Tech Anti-Wrap bar for a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500

Well maybe I put too much thought into it but the reason I did that was I thought the pinion would always stay in line with the drive shaft as the axle traveled up and down. I guess that might have more to do with the length of the bar than anything. The shorter the bar the more the pinion will...

General Tech Anti-Wrap bar for a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500

I couldn't really fit some "gradual" exhaust elbows so I had to make my own. I finally got to the fun part Thanks for viewing. If you have any questions or comments feel free.

General Tech Anti-Wrap bar for a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500

Anti-Wrap bar build So I recently bought a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 primarily for a hunting/work truck and I discovered how bad it "hopped" in the snow (the axle-wrap was terrible). I only paid 500 bucks for the truck so I had a little money to drop into it. The first order of business was an...

General Tech Rolling tube bender stand

I just thought I would share this idea I had with those of you with little room in your garage for a tube bender, let alone bending some tubing. I originally had the stand mounted on my flat bed trailer but I hated it because I had to take the bender off every time I was done with it, or if I...

How to: attach jeep to trailer?

I attach the ratchet strap from one corner of the trailer, go under the axle tube, over the pumpkin, back under the other side's axle tube and attach to the other corner so it's in a V. I do this in the front and rear. I also make sure to stop after a mile or so of driving and re-tighten...

    Pitman arm question

Alright cool, I'll look into it. I might have found the one I need through parts mike, I just need to call them to make sure. It looks like around the same drop but a little bit longer and already reamed for the 1 ton TRE. I'll let you know what I find out Graves, thanks again.

    Pitman arm question

Thanks for all of the information guys. Graves your exactly right on the longer throw for a dana 60 I'll have to look into it. I think the reason the arm bent was because I bent the front of the frame right where the steering box brace connected and it pulled the steering box toward the pass...

    Pitman arm question

Alright thanks. I think I need around a 2" drop. If you could check the part #stamped on the arm that would be good. The reason I need the 52038337 arm is because I designed the 3 link suspension to match that pitman arm, and I don't want to have to modify the track bar bracket to match a drag...

    Pitman arm question

graves, I sent you a PM. Thanks for the quick reply. I thought they would break as well being a cast steel, but apparently not. Then I got to thinking maybe their designed to "give a little" for safety reasons. Wouldn't want one breaking due to a crack or something while driving down the freeway.

    Pitman arm question

I have a bent pitman arm and I am trying to track down new (stronger) one. The part# is 52038337 (fits 97 - 06 YJ/TJ with 3-4" lift) and I can't find any measurements online. I know someone on here has to have the same one. My question is, with it being bent I don't know what drop and exactly...

Topic of Discussion TOD: Offroad preparedness

Maybe I missed it, but a spare surpentine/ v-belt would be good also. I agree 100% on the positive attitude, with a little bit of creativity and a good attitude you can fix anything. I've noticed that the more tools you carry the less likely you are to break down.... and vise versa.... The way...

Any ideas on this clunking/popping noise?

Get under your rig and look at things. Wiggle every moveable part up and down, left and right. Could be something as simple as a broken or loose exhaust hanger. If you cant find it that way, have someone push up and down on the bumpers while you look at shocks, track bar, bushings etc. The best...
