My 2015 in pictures - Share yours too!

As a new year rapidly approaches, I find it a soothing cabin fever remedy to recollect on the past years adventures. The places I went and more importantly the people I went there with. I find that I focus far too many of my pictures on the vehicles themselves and I'm making a goal to improve that in 2016. Choosing just a single photo from an adventure is a tough task, but I do my best to choose one that best represents the memory. 2015 was a GREAT year for adventures, already have some good things lined up for 2016 but it may be hard to top this year!

I had a busy but awesome year! To sum it up pretty quickly-


January: Winter 4x4 Jamboree- Hanging out with awesome people!


April: EJS in Moab- again with the awesome people


May: OSRC- My second time competing (first was OSRC the previous year)

We won... A lot. Again spending time with AWESOME people!


May: Post-OSRC Sand Hollow trip- great way to wind down.


June: First WERock event in Rangely, CO.- so much fun! Met some more great people!

We won again so that didn't suck


July: Idaho X Rocks- such an awesome event, one of my favorites! Great people!

August: IXR part two- oh poop!

I actually endo'd twice that day and did a lot of damage. Done for the weekend.


September: Silver State Rock Crawling Championship in Reno- spotting for Ryan since my rig was down. Amazing event that broke records.

Looking at these pics just makes me excited for the 2016 competition season. It's gonna be a busy year!!!

There are a lot of trips from 2015 I still have to edit.

To start the season off, my wife and I headed to Capitol Reef for a few days in early April. Got hit by a late spring snow storm while staying in Torrey, UT.


Took the Cathedral Valley drive one day.

My wife and I headed to Palo Duro Canyon, Texas in May for an RV rally. This was our campsite at the bottom of the canyon. Met a great group of guys from the West Texas Jeepers that showed us around some of their stomping grounds.


In July, the wife and I headed up towards Glacier NP, took the long way around. Here we are pulled off in a wide spot for lunch on the Power Junction Pass, east of Cody, WY.


Same trip, the wife and I found a little, I mean very little, RV park. It was built by a husband and wife back in the late 60's, they have approx. 20 sites and is now run by the kindest little old lady as her husband passed away a few years ago. All grass sites and right on the Salmon River just outside Salmon, ID.


Each afternoon a few does and fawns would wander right through the campground while we were sitting there.




We took a different entrance into Glacier NP than we have ever taken before. All back roads of course.


Driving over the Going to the Sun pass, here is the weeping wall. I wanted to stop but unfortunately there was a lot of traffic the day we went as it was the first day without torrential downpours for almost a week.


One of our monthly local Jeep club trail runs. We had a rather large turnout for this one as it was our end of summer run. Say good bye to summer run I think is what we offically called it.


These pictures were taken when the wife and I decided to take off for our annual Ouray, CO trip. It was a great week. Everyone who was going to go with us backed out as the trip grew nearer but we went anyways. We met two couple in the KOA where we stayed that we wheeled with all week. One couple was from Burbank, CA and the other from a little town near Parker, AZ. Great people.

In October, we attended our first FMCA 4-Wheelers rally, this one held in St. George, UT for a week. Met some great people who share mine and my wife's love of RVing and Jeeps.

Back to the Uintahs in August, an overnighter up Murdoch Basin.

Also September, a trip to Moab with the club. I call this picture "Kevin needs a proper awning". It could also be called "Josh needs a chair".



October, the Quest For Zaqistan.

November, a trip with the club back into Capital Reef was cut short by a blown alternator. Lame. No pics, but at least it counts for a bag night.

And that was my year. I think I got out more than I ever have, it was a fun year.

I didn't get out a lot. 1 year old baby makes it hard. But some random stuffs. I had some fun.

More Canyonlands

My short lived M101 Trailer and Roof Top Tent set up. American Fork Canyon. I forget which trail we went up. It was a blast, destroyed my wheels dragging that trailer up there.

Wyoming up in the Big Horn Mountains. Undisclosed location.

Took the Father-in-laws UTV for a spin and beat the truck up a bit

Did some paddle boarding in the Unitas. Stayed a couple nights in the Truck Bed camper. Sold the camper a few months ago.

My body never sees the sun. Shut up.

Checked out a ghost town in Idaho.

Went with my second son out to the Newfoundland Mountains for an overnighter.

I also bought and sold a lot of cars. Its been a great year. Still working on converting my Range Rover to a Mercedes Turbo Diesel. I hear its the wave of the future.
