Been working on this for a while now and thought that I'd post some pics.

I wanted a big, bulletproof buggy that also had room for friends and family. After wheeling smaller rigs for the past 15 or so years, I was ready for something larger. :D

First Bends. :)
1.750" DOM tubing.

One of the axles. :)

Front and rear 2.5 ton rockwells (u-joint style axles).

Hubs flipped in, pinion brakes, welded rear & detroit front.

Rear is a steering axle with rotated center section.

Powertrain mocked up.

6.0 L out of a 2004 chevy that was rolled.
Only 10,500 miles on it.
It's a "drive by wire" setup so I scavaged the TAC module and throttle peddle along with the engine wiring harness and ECM.

Trans is a good ol' TH400.

T-case is a STAK 3 speed monster box. :greg:
1410 yokes.

New centers from Stazworks with rockwell bolt pattern.

Tires are 44" TSL's.

Told ya it'd be big!!!

As it sits now.

Lights are Hella Black Magic.

Radiator is from C&R

Wheelbase will be approx 127"
Generic 4-link and coil over suspension.

Project pics from here will be sporadic.
I work on it as much as possible, but work schedule doesn't always allow...

lookin good so far!!! when do you think you'll be done???

Thanks Tacoma

Well, I'll admit that I'm behind schedule.
I basically spent a total of 4 months in Oklahoma this year which put a damper on things. I would like to have the chassis 100% complete before winter so I can work on funner things (electrical, plumbing, suspension, etc) over the winter months.

The only "big ticket" items that I have left to buy are the coilovers, which will be 2.5" fox or swayaway's.

You must have a big family & a lot of friends!! :cody:

Looks awesome! I just pulled the throttle cable & TAC of my donor truck this morning. Pretty simple setup. What are the HP & TQ specs on the 6.0? A friend has one in a 3/4 ton truck & it was a grunty motor. It ought to be perfect for your buggy.

LOL, big family yes, and one can never have enough friends (unless they're named Cody... JK :D ).

Specs I've found on the motor says approx 310 horse and 365 ft/lbs. I need to have the ECM flashed in order to defeat the VATS system, omit 2 o2 sensors, etc. Supposedly they can also tune the ecm at the same time for an additional 35 - 40 horse & ft/lbs. I'll either use jims performance or wait 4 me performance for the computer and harness work.

Thanks

I love that style chassis. If I were to ever go w/ a larger rig, I'd probably go that route. It just looks good.

Good job!
