So I want to build a cheap trailer out of a bed off a 2.5 ton military truck. The issue I am having is the frame under the bed is really narrow and mounting trailer axles (unless really heavy ones) seems very difficult. The minimum spring perch is about 35 inches off.

So i thought about just using 14 bolt axles since they are cheap and strong.

The Question I have is..

Can they take the weight and what are some other ideas? I want a dual axle trailer.

A FF 14 bolt will take the weight. I forget what they are rated for but it's more than you're gonna want to tow in a trailer like that anyway. :D Have at it!
