I have had my 1st Gen 4Runner for 2 years now and I'm finally getting around to SAS'ing it after doing the usual IFS tweaks to try to keep up on the trail.

The work taking place is pretty standard, well documented, tested Toyota stuff...'cuz it works.:D

When I first got the '87 it came equipped with:

1" BL
4.7:1 Old style AA/Marlin Crawler t-case gears
4.56 thirds
Rear E-locker
Front Tru-Trac
31" AT's
Square Tube sliders and rear bumper
22-RE
W56 transmission
Super clean interior
Tape deck

I have since added:

1.5" BJ spacers
Rear OME leafs
Pro-Comp shocks
TG twin sticks
33x12.5 MT's
Full tune up
Bikini style hardtop
SR5 seats
Inclinometer
CB
6x9's for the Tape deck :p

The plans are as follows:

3" TG IFS eliminator with HD springs
Dual E-lockers with 5.29's
35x12.5 MT's
Winch bumper

Here are some before pics, it has been on the passenger side twice but still cleans up pretty good.

I would like this 4Runner to be lower than my last '84 PU so instead of welding the front hanger in the standard location we hacked out the OEM crossmember and fit the new one in, this alone dropped the front 1".

Big difference:

However moving the hanger up also shortened the springs on the shackle end giving a less desireable angle. To compensate we pushed the hanger flush with the OEM crossmember and drilled the spring perches 1.5"s aft to shove the axle forward.

Here is the location of the axle:
