Bought the truck with a blown up 454 in it. Got a new 454 rebuilt it bored it 20 over put forged domed high compression pistons in it with 396 heads and a comp cam. Had a turbo 400 behind it. Drove it for 2 years wasn’t happy with it. Was over the 4 MPG and having to run 91 octane non ethanol fuel. Decided to list the motor for sale guy came test drove the truck said he’d take the motor so I yanked it out. And now begins the LS swap picked up a 5.3 out of a ‘01 tahoe with 190 K from my local junkyard. Motor, ECM, wiring harness, and all the accessories for $550. Had a machine shop go 20 over on it. Put a BTR truck torque cam with LS6 valve springs.

Never seen anyone haul wood in a Blazer. This will be a fun truck!

Ok, I looked through again. Not sure why I thought it was a Blazer??? Still love the truck and direction you're headed!

Picked up a hydraulic clutch pedal assembly out of a ‘86 K20 at the junkyard bolted right in place and just drilled out holes in the firewall utilizing the factory dimples marking there locations. 6540660F-EA0E-463C-AF2C-284F02CAD0F8.jpeg3A1558D7-E076-4909-9EE0-5048EF9EABF0.jpegD644D012-D50F-4677-8795-9D9916EEA046.jpegBottom clutch pedal is out of the ‘94 that the trany came from. Middle one is the factory brake pedal from the truck. Top one is from the ‘86 K20...

Kayden can you tell me which yard sold you a 5.3l with harness for $550? I need to replace my 5.7l 350 carb motor and that would be a sweet replacement.

With that pedal Modified for that slave cylinder does it go all the way down to the floor like it should and pretty easy to mash the pedal? I’m asking because I just swapped a Nv4500 in my truck and used a factory 85 set of pedals too but used the 85 master and the clutch is super hard to press and just doesn’t feel right to me, thought about just using the nv4500 master cylinder like you did
