This is Glade's new project. He found this 4runner for $3000. 96' 3.4L Auto. 203K on it. The guy thought it had a bad tranny. CEL was on, so we pulled codes and it was a cylinder 4 misfire. The rig would stutter when under load, so the seller thought it was the tranny. We swapped plugs and wires and no more issue.

Anyway, here is the build list.
TG 3" Tacoma Kit "C" with 5.29s and ARBs front and rear.
Rear 3" Tacoma kit
Dual cases (keeping the stock rear case)
37x12.5x17 Radial Trepadors

We'll be running Tacoma width axles F&R.

Rear axle will be getting cromoly shafts and a complete disc brake conversion.

I plan on doing a SAS on a future vehicle after I have my current '90 PU built to where I have thoughts. :D

man, you guys don't mess around! I was secretly hoping for links up front, but you've already proved that you can build a runner and keep it low on 37s. Looking forward to this build.

Different wheels, side trim, headlights, and tinting? Also, one of them is on the ground and another is on a lift. ;)

You played a lot of those "highlights" magazine quizzes as a kid didn't you?

What kit are you using for rear discs? I didn't see a kit for 3rd gen 4runners on your website

Clean work! Glade should have called your local boy Brian Ellinger and got a diamond axle instead of a China-gear axle housing ;) haha just kidding.
very clean so far, I dig the six shooters.

If it were a year ago I would have made him. Honestly though, the TG housings have gotten A LOT better in the last six months. Its still not a Diamond, but better than stock by far.

I'm wondering why you'd switch to leafs in the rear? I understand the front, but swapping to rear leafs seems like extra work and cost when you can upgrade the links and put on some LC coils.

Looks great!

Because once you lift the rig this much the link geometry would SUCK. It would be like 10* of oversteer and make it dart excessively on the hwy. Even at 3" of lift, it causes too much oversteer IMHO.
