Anyone weld aluminum? One of the ears on my valve cover broke off and I'm curious about welding it back on. PM me if you can or know someone.

Aluminium Welding

Valve covers and oil pans suck. Anything oil soaked is pretty impossible- especially cast aluminum.
I can give it a go but you'll need to burn out all the oil with a torch.

Is it structural or just a casting/boss for a harness clip?
Depending on how critical it is, you could drill it for a pin and secure it with some JB Weld.
