Been thinking lately about picking up another hardtail. I had a nice one, spec carve from like 14/15 but it got stolen out of my garage one night I forgot to close the door. :( I had been riding to work on skinnys but struggled with cleaning up after the ride. Apparently the building is putting in a gym though with showers that should be done soon-ish.

Looking at this thread isn't helping me to not want a bike...

Lemme make it worse. This was yesterday above Eagle Mountain.

The new owners of my building just put in a sweet bike locker and a fully equipped gym with showers. So of course my employer decides that it's time to move us to a different building. :(

Ok so it's a little bit further south than the spot I was thinking. I grew up in Kaysville, but I've never heard of that trail before.

I have a 2015 Scott Genius that is a size large for sale $1750. I have ridden it since Spring of 2016.

I have made upgrades like SRAM Guide R brakes, dropper post, Fox 36 HSC/LSC

It does have the factory lock out for the rear shock but not for the fork. If you would like I will drop the price and reinstall the factory Fox 32 that works with the twin Lock system from Scott. Though the 36 has made a huge difference in performance especially at 160mm front and 150 rear.

It’s been ridden and has some frame scratches but nothing that hurts the integrity of the bike.

Going to be a bunch of us camping on Gooseberry the weekend of the 18th. We'll be riding Gooseberry on Friday and something else Saturday, maybe something Sunday morning. Anybody else going to be down there? Any locals wanna hook up for a ride and/or show us the best place for after-ride nachos?

I'd be game for a ride on Saturday. You're sure not getting any nachos near gooseberry. The little Creek station (Chevron) makes a decent burger!

So we're meeting at 1100 on Friday at the Bearclaw trailhead, we're going to camp on Gooseberry Mesa and spend Saturday up there (I've never ridden the South Rim so we'll see how that goes), and then probably hit Guac on Sunday morning before we go home. Love to have you or anybody join us for any part of that.

@kmboren are you back on the bike yet?

I have been back on it but not on a trail. I got sick for a week this last week and finally came back to work today. My daughter is on the local mnt bike team and I am signed up as a coach so I will be out soon enough when my work schedule allows it. My jeep has been taking a lot of time lately so there's that. I need to get back out soon.

Dicks has GT bikes on sale right now for 50% off. My wife and I would like some bikes.. but I always choke at prices. Any thoughts on how the GT Aggressor would be for a guy who never rides a bike?
GT Aggressor at Dicks

For a bike to get your feet wet probably not terrible amount. If you end up liking biking you'll probably be desiring some upgraded components. Years ago GT bikes were fantastic, don't know how they are now. But should be a solid platform to build on if you enjoy it.

Check KSL used, can find some older really nice bikes for not much more. Trick is finding one in your size.

*Edit* Also appears $299 is the normal price as far back as last year
