Well, it’s that time again and we are gearing up for our big 4th of July event during the Freedom Festival. I posted a more complete event listing in the upcoming events forum but I'm posting here specifically looking to bolster our volunteer levels. This year we are planning bigger than ever and it should be an amazing event. If you’ve never been out to this before you should definitely plan on coming. This is one of the largest interactive U.S. Militaria events in the country and has something for everyone. You’ll see vehicles and equipment representing every war in the 20th century, plus there are activities and events for the whole family like "boot camp", a USO style show, '40's style victory dance, pin up contest (family friendly) and more. Come join us and help pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed for the cause of freedom throughout the years. This event is a huge undertaking, and takes a lot of volunteers to make it happen. That being the case, if you'd like to be involved in any way from the dance and USO type show, to set up or tear down and anything in between we'd love to have your help. We'd also welcome help manning some of our lesser staffed areas like the Cold War, Gulf War, and War on Terror (current era) areas, especially if you served during those times. Additionally, if you have any military equipment or vehicles you'd be willing to lend or donate, regardless of condition, this is always welcomed. We also welcome sponsorships and donations from businesses, either monetary or raffle items for the event and will gladly list your business in our sponsors lists and posters. We typically get around 75-100,000 people through the event so it's a great way to get some publicity and we are a 501c3 non-profit so donations are tax deductible! This is what gives us the chance to make sure these stories are told and the history is preserved for future generations.
