I am looking for a gas tank for an 1982 Yamaha XT 550

I'm sure they are tough to find in good shape but I thought some of you might have a line on one or some suggestions for me.

We have one with a leak, my son has struggled to weld it up tight.

thanks,

Scott

Wow, that brought back some memories. I had a 1979 XT500 that I put a full white brothers exhaust and supertrap on it. I loved that bike and could wheelie it, literally for miles. We would pull the wheelies up by Cherry Hill on Hwy 89 and see how far we could go. My best was Cherry Lane in East Layton. THEN....I wheelied over doing it and that stopped me from doing it anymore. My Lee Levi jacket looked cool from it but my ass didn't.

Would this one fit? Says all years xt550… 🤔

I’ve heard mixed reviews on justgastanks as a company but I’m sure you could order it direct from Clarke if needed
Thanks, that is about half the cost of the ones I found online. We were looking at $500, which is all he paid for the bike. Before the Jb weld started leaking it was very fun to ride. It's a pretty cool bike for 40 years old.

So I have this tank; I’m not 100% sure what it was intended for. It came on a bike I bought years ago that was sorta customized- it was a CR125 chassis (‘96) with an XR200 motor. The guy that sold it me said this tank came off of an old Yamaha XT.
If you can use it - it’s yours.

That is very nice of you, but this isn't the same as the one we need. I appreciate the gesture though!
