Cell Phone Hacking Verizon

I have a the new Verizon V710, and was told by many different sales reps that I am able to transfer MP3's from the Transflash memory card to the phone for my ringtones. They also said that I dont' want the new software because this prevents this from hapenning. I was reading some stuff that said that it can be hacked so it will work Is there anyone on here that knows how to do this type of stuff?

I was reading on Howardforums.com and they tell you how to do it. I am just Retarded when it comes to Computer/Phone stuff.
